"My friend from Brazil was traveling to the United States. He was going to be staying 4 months with me volunteer coaching soccer. They questioned why he was staying so long. He told them he was volunteer making no money doing it. Which is the truth. They took his phone and belongings searched him and put him in a cell for 4+ hours while they looked through his phone. They found a message that said he received $200 dollars as a gift for helping. They considered this a job, canceled his visa and sent him back to Brazil. As an American I has never been more ashamed of the inhuman treatment. My friend from Brazil is loved by this small community, and he has traveled back and forth several times. This is disgusting and disgraceful to even have to type. The amount of people pouring across our borders with no repercussions, and my friend gets treated like this. Shameful."
"We travel many times to the USA from Europe but this is our first bad experience on 12/24/2023 in Chicago O Hare customs. We waited in line more than 3hours with pregnant wife, 3year child and 73 years old grandma. Many travelers where with babies and children and they didnt let nobody over the line. Airport employes who organized the line were so rude they laugh and yell that we are to blame because we choose to travel during the holidays. We several times kindly asked to consider connection flight, pregnant wife, small child and old grandma, but they were so rude. Many people and we also miss the connection flight. American airlines service was good, they pay the overnight hotel and tomorrow they book us early morning flight. I understand that it is crowded during the holidays but airport should not recive that many flights and passengers if they cant organise proper service."
"Well-over two hours waiting in line to clear customs at Chicago O'Hare on 12/4/24, with barely half of the booths manned. Couldn't be more poorly managed. It's a stain on our national reputation."
"The female staff directing returning travelers especially foreigners of Asian Descents as to which security booth to proceed to was extremely rude!!!!She should be fired!!The male staff at the electronic booth was also rude. Employees who hate their jobs should not be employed at Chicago's O' Hare International Airport as it serves people of all Nations across the globe. Immigrations and Customs need to do better at hiring employees to live up to the standards and integrity!"
"By far the most rude people. Ireland, Sweden, Copenhagen made you feel welcome. Returning to the States people working the line and in the booths rude. I’m a US citizen it’s a shame the way people were treated. Our guy had an attitude because he wanted a drink of water lines went for miles it was after a 13 hour flight and you’re rude because you want a drink of water so the line waits."
