"I was referred to Dr. Milam by Dr. Suri, the pulmonologist who did my bronoscopy biopsy as it showed small cell carcinoma. He assured me she would honor my decision not to have treatment, but would give me information about the disease and prognosis. It was partially my fault to accept Dr. Suri's word about this as he had already shown he was a person of very little integrity by not behaving professionally and by not being honest with me. I spent about 30 minutes and during that time, she never answered my questions but directed me to believing i should undergo immunotherapy treatments. Told me with scc it needed to be started ASAP as it could invade my blood vessels at any moment. My husband was in exam with me and asked me to try. I agreed. But as soon as we were in our car , I reminded him of how he agreed to support my decision. He apologized. My pcp has tried since then, 2 weeks ago, to have her call him so he can ask the questions I'd asked her that she ignored. She's not returned his calls (just as Dr. Suri did me about biopsy), so he will direct me urgently to another oncologist tomorrow. Dr. Suri and Dr. Milam are both with BSW in Fort Worth. It's so disappointing. Please be forewarned about these doctors. It's stressful enough for those who are ill and their families, without having to be abused by Doctors who have no honor. And just as a side note, the infusion department at BSW never tried to contact me."

"Angel from above...... I could not ask for more professional caring loving and knowledgeable oncologist. "I am so thankful that Dr. Milam took care of my wife and did everything in her power to see her through to being 2 years cancer-free. I have never heard of another physician who goes to the lengths that Dr. Milam goes to in order to make sure that each of her patients has the best treatment possible. She comes across as bossy, but she is absolutely fierce in looking after her patients, with no other goal than to insure the best possible outcome for each one. In addition, her staff are all very good, the Chemo Lab nurses are exemplary, and the Lab Techs are superbly talented at what they do. You can tell that she cares deeply about each patient, but she hides it pretty well with her clinical, businesslike approach.
