"Mr. Robertson has been a tremendous help as I navigate legal matters. He has extensive knowledge and experience in so many legal areas. I highly recommend Mr. Robertson if you are in Brazoria county."
"Absolutely an amazing lawyer. Was very patient with my case. Walked me thru everything to expect and make me feel so comfortable. I wouldn’t recommended anyone else to anyone at all. You’re in good hands with Mr. Robertson. Thank you Sir."
"I hired James Robinson to help me with a modification of my child support payments. My ex wife was seeking an increase after only 1 year of the original judgement. We ended up in mediation, and while he was late to the meeting, I understand that things happen and if it were the only negative thing that happened it could be forgiven. I felt from the start like Mr. Robinson was unprepared and not ready to argue my case effectively. The first thing that struck me was that he didn't seem prepared for the meeting—he was not only late as I said before, but when he arrived, he was more focused on a case he had at the courthouse and eagerly anticipating a phone call. He even stepped out twice. When I asked him about this, he said that he may be called back for some case at the courthouse in Angleton. This struck me as odd, especially because we were going into a legal proceeding where I am the client and the focus on my case was very important! When we got into negotiating with my ex-wife's attorney, Mr. Robinson seemed unprepared and did not bring up any points that would help strengthen my case—in fact, quite the contrary he seemed unaware of some very important facts related to how child support is calculated under Texas law (that it's based on net resources). I questioned it but he said that it was my gross income on my W2, not my net. The two were dramatically different. Even though this info is available on the Attorney General's website, Mr Robinson assured me that is how it is. The biggest issue I had in my modification and was agreed to in the end was not even in the agreement I signed. My ex raised this issue to me recently, and his statement to me was, "It's not in the order you signed." He claims he doesn't remember us agreeing to this major thing that held up coming to terms even though it was my biggest thing. Yes, I signed it on the advice of my lawyer, but it was 100% my fault for not reading through it like he did before I signed it, thinking he would have said something about it. My advice: If you're seeking an attorney for either a custody case, modification or anything else, run—don't walk—from James Robinson. If you do, you'll likely end up with what is my opinion is an attorney who is incompetent and will do nothing but cost you money. Don't let him convince you that talking about being a former judge or having shared offices with respected judges will help him serve his clients as a knowledgeable attorney; obviously none of that past experience helped him at all with serving his clients as a knowledgeable attorney!"
"I had hired James to fight for custody of my children, and had proven to be very effective. My family owes him and his team a great deal of thanks. 4 years later and we couldn't be happier. Our kids have a bright future with every opportunity they could ever need to succeed in life. Thank you again!"
"James Robertson is an honorable man and lawyer that I had the pleasure of Knowing and working with. He’s honest and very straight forward. He welcomes you openly and asks that you’re are completely honest with him from the beginning. He helped me through my divorce with constant communication and helped me with the custody of my children. I highly recommend his services to anyone in the Brazoria County area. Thank you for all that you do and have done James!"
