"Dropped of a stray cat that was In my neighborhood to get it spayed and neutered, once they dropped her back off I kept her In my house till she was ok to go back out but she got super super sick, had to take her to the vet and they said she has a bad ear infection(which the cat community place had to cut off the ear to show it’s a spayed cat already) and they sutured her bad. It’s been 5 days and she’s still at the er she’s not doing good at all, DO NOT bring stray cats here to get them spayed or neutered"
"This is the second time I've been to this location interested in a dog and I will never do business with them every again. The first time, we took two dogs home because we were told they bonded and were together the whole time. As soon as we got home the aggressive behavior started. When I called to ask if this was noticed before I was told the 2 dogs had been put in the same kennel the day before we got them. We decided to return the puppy, hoping he'd get adopted quickly. He did. Second time, we went in last week to meet a dog for a potential 2 week foster. We certified that she was medically cleared to be released. We signed a contract that stated a return date and specifically "Caregiver agrees to humanely take care of said animals until agreed end date of foster, but in no event shall Foster Caregiver become obligated or have any right to keep said animals for longer than three (3) weeks from agreed on end foster date." We get a call the day after we brought her home apologizing for some missed positive test results for PCR. We took her to our local vet to continue treatment. Unfortunately the foster situation is not working with our current dog so we called to schedule a return appointment. They will not schedule us for another 3 weeks. We explained why its no longer working and were told due to the number of appts and no space there is nothing they can do. When I brought up the contract, they stated it was a 2 week minimum. It does not say that in writing, we were not told that in person and now we have our current dog who is regressing, fearful and no longer eating. Do not go here if you want a healthy dog, a contract that is honored or reliable service. The only person I have had experience with who genuinely seems to care about the animals and the people is Joe. He will be open, honest, friendly and basically picks up the slack for the hand full of others that we've personally dealt with."
"Writing this review for potential adopters: be aware that the animal you adopt from here has a high chance of being sick. We recently adopted a dog from the downtown location and he has a pretty nasty case of parasites that we’re working on getting rid of now. We haven’t had him for long so he definitely picked it up while he was at the shelter. Our vet said he has treated many sick animals who were adopted from El Paso Animal Services. You’ll want to bring your new furry friend to a vet asap after adoption and maybe save up a little money before adopting for the vet bills. Other than that, the adoption process itself was quick and easy."
"Top tier service , my kitty ended up coming home with an upper respiratory infection (they had no way of knowing which is understandable) all I had to do was reach out, explain my situation, and they (Joe) were so understanding and helpful... He got us into the vet at the shelter and my girl was treated with no issues. Every animal i have is from this shelter and every time i have adopted there have been no problems. Everyone is extremely respectful and aware."
"We decided to go to the El Paso Zoo to see the cats available for adoption, as per a suggestion from the main office of the El Paso Animal Services Center.... We arrived at 1:30 p.m. and when we got to the adoption center inside the zoo, after paying our entrance fee, they were on a 2-hour break.... Really guys?? Is this the best way to find good homes for the pets that need them? I think not, especially for a place that's only open from Friday to Sunday. There must be another time, either before they open or after they close, to take a break... If they must, however, take a break from for some urgent situation, it should last no more than half an hour... I feel that you are preventing yourselves from using the time wisely to find adoptive parents for your cats. Perhaps you're not interested in finding adoptive parents for your cats.. that's the only thing I can assume. Everyone needs a break from time to time, but anything more than a half an hour is excessive when you're only open 3 days a week!!! This is just my opinion and if I were in charge it would be handled much more user friendly for potential adoptive parents."
