"If all possible try and find a different place. I was referred to Dr Bauhman back in August. I finally got a return call from his staff at the end of August. I went for my appointment August 26th and was in the office 3 and half hours. Dr Bauhmans staff are kind but very unorganized. Dr Bauhmans bedside manner definitely needs work. I was diagnosed with a membrane pucker is the short version for it. It's where I see everything out of that eye distorted (wavy). I finally got scheduled for surgery to repair it December 8th. Yes December 8th! I ended up with a cough about 2 weeks before that date. Finishing up antibiotics on the 6th and feeling fine. They decided to cancel that surgery and told me to call the following week. My deductible and oop met on my insurance so I really needed in asap. I called Thursday twice and was told I would get a call back. I called the next day, Friday with still no call back. I called the following Monday twice and still no call back! By Tuesday I'm very upset with no call back to reschedule this surgery! Tuesday afternoon I found a new Dr that got me in that Wednesday afternoon and scheduled my appointment on December 20th and did an amazing job. So if you are needing in for issues I recommend to go elsewhere! I have never in my lifetime seen such an unorganized office that will not return your calls. And here it is January 6th and they still have not called me!! But it all worked out for the best with my new Dr and his wonderful staff! Good Luck!"
"Everything was very professional. Staff was excellent DOC was outstanding very thorough patient explained everything in details gave me post it notes so I don’t forget communication was perfect. There was not a minute that I did not know what was going on."
"Dr. Bauman is very thorough and knowledgeable! He's been my Specialist for a few years now and my eye health has improved drastically since under his care. He and his staff staff are very professional and treat you with compassion and care! They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable throughout each step of your examination! They are the Best!!"
"Dr Bauman has been wonderful, very knowledge BUT staff are nice to your face but do not do what they say the will do. Contact another Dr office for records, call back when they say the will, you wait days for call backs, the person you need to talk to is never available if you call. Cant get to the Dr. Bauman. Retina issue are huge and they don't care."
"After calling and asking the day before my sons appointment if we could show 30 minutes (9:30 AM) sooner than my sons original appointment time (10:00 AM) for the sake of their convenience to get his paperwork filed that in actuality only took them 5 minutes, I did, then they saw it fit to inconvenience me by making me wait and room jump for 2 hours. Finally we asked if we were still going to be seen or had they forgotten we were there and coincidentally they were about to come and get us to be moved to the examination room. After another 5 minutes of waiting, Dr. Bauman decided he would come see us after seeing his other patients that arrived after us and he was EXTREMELY rude straight away, didn't greet or introduce himself to us and upon walking in was very silent as if he'd been the only one in the room. He didn't ask, but ordered me to put my son on the table where he'd be swaddled. Before this I had placed his swaddle down, it was a velcro swaddle and both him and his assistant were having trouble figuring it out and even moved it upside down because they were unsure what way it should have been facing even after I had already placed it. So when I placed my son on it, I tried to swaddle him myself and this must have highly offended him that I was trying to help by caring for my own son. So he decides to raise his voice at me and quote told me "You just need to move away! MOVE AWAY!" I was very shocked at his attitude and politely apologized for being in the way and moved back, but he didn't stop there and told me that I "Need to move that out of the way! Move it out of the way!" in reference to my sons carseat that was already placed where it was not in the way of anyone or even the examination table. The assistant did it instead of me and I moved near the door, then they placed numbing drops in what I had noticed was only in one eye and before even allowing them to go into affect aggressively forces my sons eyes open and places a metal clamp in them while he's screaming out in intensive pain. On top of all of this, because we waited so long to be seen from the time my sons eyes started dilating to when the Dr. came in he didn't even know if he could do the examination because it had been so long already. Now, may I add my son was a 29 week old premature baby that spent 2 months and 1 day in the NICU before coming home, his eyes were a concern after leaving home and the hospital (North East Baptist Hospital) made an appointment with this horrible Dr. to make sure his retinas were developed/developing correctly. So the way he was treating my son and me, whom did absolutely nothing wrong was EXTREMELY uncalled for especially because my son is a BABY. He was literally only present in the room 5 minutes and it was the most unpleasant and horrible experience I've had with any Dr. After the examination he sat down and I quickly grabbed my son, I noticed SCRATCHES where Dr. Bauman was prying his eyes open and I was very concerned. He did not like that I was being attentive to my son and told me "Look at me so I can tell you something." very rudely and wanted me to have direct eye contact the entire time while he pointed to his eyes as if I didn't know what an eye was. After everything and with not even a word he got up and left immediately. Upon asking a nurse he does not even specialize in children or babies, none the less NICU babies so he should not have been referred to my son under any circumstances and he should have been professional enough to turn down the appointment and refer me to someone else whom could have taken better care of my son and whom specialized in NICU babies or babies in general. Instead he only cared about the money he would receive for taking us in as patients. I will NEVER come back here and I will certainly be making sure others won't either. Bauman is a horrible man and "Dr." that seems to utterly despise his job and needs to retire from the business."
