The Child Development and Family Center (CDFC) located at 220 North Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb, Illinois, is a nurturing and educational environment for children of NIU students, faculty, staff, and community members. Our dedicated teachers believe in the importance of play and learning working together to foster a child's development. With a child-centered approach, we offer a flexible program that meets the needs of each individual child.

As part of the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, the CDFC not only provides high-quality care but also serves as a valuable resource for research and observation in child development. We are proud to house the NIU Child Care Access Means Parents In School Program (CCAMPIS) and the NIU Preschool for All Expansion Program (PFAE).
