"I was a registered Behavioral technician with MedCare last year for almost 2 years. This company doesn’t know how to run a business at least regarding the ABA department. So many unethical practices such as absent BCBAs and no supervision of technicians that should be done on a monthly basis. The training is not thorough and the environment is not conducive to children growing and learning. They should completely remove their ABA services. I wouldn’t trust them with my money nor my children. The techs are great and caring. They really do their best with the very little leadership present. So many unethical things happened to techs. At one point they had a strong team of techs at the Stafford location, but they became lazy and did not want to fill the BCBA position once the previous BCBA got promoted to clinical director. I am guessing the goal was to have one less person on their payroll. Technicians should NOT be working without the guidelines and supervision of a COMPETENT BCBA. That is one of the most fundamental ethics code of ABA. Behavioral technicians do not have the credentials to work independently. There must ALWAYS be a BCBA present. I am glad that I left because I have learned one of the best practices of ABA. I would never have had such experience if I stayed at this company."
"MedCare has been amazing for our son! We originally had Pediatric In-Home Therapy when my child was an infant. The speech therapist showed me that he did understand what you’re saying/asking of him even though he couldn’t tell or show you. It was amazing and encouraging! Many years later, we would need in-home nursing and this was my first choice because of my great experience with therapy. Well nursing proved to be just as amazing if not more. I have not had any worries that my child wasn’t being cared for in my absence. His nurses have gone above and beyond for him and I’m forever grateful! Nursing has helped my son reach full potential!"
"We’ve been in PT with KC for almost 2 years and have been so grateful for her work with our daughter! She’s been able to meet all her milestones through KC’s help and intervention. We have spent over 6 months in speech with Kori and she has helped us catch up as well as surpass our age goals and qualify out of services. And Eileen with OT has been amazing at helping us problem solve sensory seeking and sensory avoiding behaviors with different tools and interventions. Highly recommend!"
"I previously worked here the job is pretty misleading. During my time working here I was under the impression they would help me get my license, but after completing 40 hrs working on the course. I only was Halfway through the course which is weird if they scheduled me a total of 40 hrs to complete the course but I wasn't able to. The remaining of the course they wanted me to complete at home unpaid, after advising In the interview the training would be paid. I also took a cpr class that I had to stat after work for and the cpr card was never emailed to me because they submitted my email wrong to the company they go through .now after trying to obtain the cpr card through hr getting the run around back and forth they advised me they no longer have access to the system to reissue my card to the correct email. so basically I took the class for nothing .The owner of the facility would come in and go straight to his office which is right in the children's main play area , I have never seen him crack a smile or say hello to employees or any of the children which is weird since you took the time out to open a Austin facility for children."
