RRISD Transportation East Facility

"Buses for Cedar Ridge are rarely on time and the bus driver on our route is a complete jerk. My daughter has been riding this same bus with the same driver for 2.5 years. She scanned her card to get on the bus, fumbles it and it falls into the sewer. How you ask? The driver pulls the door right in front of the sewer to load the kids and watches them hop over the dip to keep from falling. Dumb, I know but this is where we are. So, instead of being a good human, knowing it’s not easy to get a new card, he takes her to school two days later but refuses to let her get back on to come home. WTH?!? She didn’t magically morph into another kid. The paperwork says it takes 3-4 days to get a new card! It had been 2 days! Thankfully I had just wrapped up a client presentation and could go get her. Did I mention it was cold and raining that day? Today’s adventure with Mr. Bus Driver sees him making an abrupt stop which causes my daughter to bump her face on the seat behind her. She wasn’t the only one. She drops her phone and it slides forward somewhere. She doesn’t know where it went and she can’t get up to find it. So, she waits until her stop to look for it. There’s a line of kids behind her so she steps to the side to let them out and asks if she can have a minute to look for her phone. Request denied. He tells her to hurry up and get off because he has other kids to drop off. I wouldn’t be so harsh on the bus driver if his abrupt stop hadn’t caused the situation but since it did, the right thing to do as the adult would have been to ask the other students to look under their seats to see if the see it. That’s what most normal people would do. But no, we have this jerk. Now her new iPhone sits at the bus depot, likely on the bus she rides. No one answers the phone. Bus driver is gone home. How ridiculous is that? 60 seconds and problem would have been solved. I pray she gets it back from the jerk tomorrow. I also hope he’s fired for being himself."

"REASON FOR THE VISIT WAS MY SON LEFT HE'S PHONE ON THE BUS. AS I WAITED FOR THE BUS DRIVER TO ARRIVE WITH THE PHONE, ALL THE BUS DRIVER'S WE'RE IN A HAPPY MOOD EVERYONE WAS HUGGING EACH OTHER. THE ENVIRONMENT WAS LIKE A BIG FAMILY! MOST OF THEM SPEAKING AND JOKING WITH ME."

"First off this is a new bus schedule bcuz they cannot find enough people to drive with cdl out here in round rock. Anyways I Called this morning at 7:02 after my kid missed the bus at 6:58. Bcuz Bus driver did not want to stop when he seen my child walking to the stop about 25ft. Mike answered the phone however at the transportation office and was incredibly rude. He told me that if he sees my child running/walking he will not stop and that she must be at the stop at 5:58. I live on the 4th floor(elevator). My kid had enough time to come back up the elevator from the bus stop and tell me he didn’t stop. I google the number transportation # and called at 7:02. I shouldn’t of even had to do this had he just waited when he seen her. She was 30 seconds from the bus stop. How did I have enough time to google the number and call at 7:02. Obviously Mike is very inconsiderate and doesn’t care what time or which kids get to school on time. Lack of empathy… And if u see a child running then be KIND ENOUGH AND NOT DRIVE OFF! People have their kids ride the bus in the morning because they cannot take them themselves. And I cannot miss or be late bcuz one individual was inconsiderate and drove off WHEN MY KID WAS SEEN 30 seconds from the stop. About 25 steps from a 4grader. Anyways here’s a photo of when I called transportation and how fast he “looked “ up which kids hopped on the bus. Bus number is 2158 for terravista elementary. Terrible school too btw"

"Bus keeps running late for my daughter's middle school. Once in the morning and twice in the evening this week alone. They don't even attempt to communicate to parents that there will be delays."

"My family and I just moved RRISD. I was hoping to have my kids ride the bus to and from school. With 4 kids and working, it would be extremely helpful for my family. However, I have called 6 times now. I have left messages, I have spoken with a lady on the phone two times and have her my info. I was told someone would call me back and I still haven’t received a phone call. Then I was told that the registrar from the school has to call. I let her know and she doesn’t have any info and can’t get anyone to call her back either. The transportation department didn’t show up to back to school night so I couldn’t get info there. School has been in session 3 weeks now and I still don’t have an answer from the transportation department."
