"The Lady that help me was very knowledge and kind, and I was able to get the loan in a few hours. Thank you OneMain."
"Long story. I have an account with them from previous loan. In late Nov 2023 I received a phone call from this very office. They said I had been pre approved for more money. At this time i informed them that it was impossible. That i was capped out at the max loan. They said that was untrue and i was pre approved for a bigger loan. At this time I said no thank you. They said ok no problem. They also said the offer was open till Dec 27, 2023. Ok thanks. This was followed up with a email from them extending the same offer. On Dec 23 I applied for the loan online and waited for them to approved or deny the loan. On the 26 of Dec I called and they said I needed to submit more documents. Ok no problem. I submitted the paperwork and waited. I did a follow up phone call after a few hours. The lady informed me that I was denied. Ok no problem. I asked what was the reason. She informed me that I was capped off at max loan amount. I informed her what the email and the previous phone call mentioned. That I was approved for a larger amount. So then I asked did you guys run my credit? She said yes. I asked why did you run my credit if you knew I was capped? Why did you not call me and tell me that I was at my max? Keep in mind that I was told by THEM that I was approved for a larger amount. She said that they ran the credit because I submitted a application. I mentioned to her that I applied because YOU said I was approved for more otherwise why would I want a credit check on my credit score? Instead of apologizing she stod her ground and kept saying it was my fault for applying. What? Then she tried to convince me that she was doing me favor by running my application. Look we all know how you make money. It's by getting applications approved. You were not worried about me. It was about you. Now I have a unnecessary credit check on my credit score. Not cool! Word of advice call them and verify before you do anything in paper with them. Have it in writing."
"I've had a good experience with onemain until the loan was pain in full 14,000 dollars,The title to my vehicle was lost after it was released they requested for the title To be sent to their office and it's been over a month and and a half and they told me the only way to get my title is for me to get a copy of my title which will cost even more money and take hours."
"I was very please with the professional service I received."
"The only reason I’m giving One Main a 2 is because the people seem fairly nice. I was approved for a loan with a vehicle as collateral. Which was no issue, I sent them my registration only to find out that because it was out of state they couldn’t use it. They asked me to register the vehicle in Texas. I really needed the loan, so I sent my husband to register the vehicle, he spent $300. Only to then be told that I needed to transfer the title as well. If I had been informed ahead of time I would’ve declined the loan initially because I didn’t have the extra $300 to begin with and then they wanted me to spend upwards an additional $1000 before they could process the loan. So essentially I lost $300 for nothing. I could understand if I were denied flat out or even if they had told me, in the beginning, I needed both the registration and title in Texas. I think this company would be much better if they improved their communications with potential clients."
