"What a great museum! They have info on some of my wife's family history, and we gave them info as they shared with us. If you have any interest in local history, Lutheran history, or German history, stop by and take the tour! We grabbed a recipe book with some old-timey classic recipes."
"We love coming each Christmas to see the decorated Christmas trees. But there is so much more there, we really need to come back during the summer to enjoy the other exhibits."
"What a fantastic exhibit. Lots of fascinating pieces and information about the Lutheran settlement in Perryville. If you are reading this review you are someone who would absolutely love it! Lots of displays and items, plus lots of info on everything. It gave me such an appreciation for what people were willing to do to follow God and practice their faith."
"Very nice decorative Christmas trees of all kinds. Staff were friendly and informative. Enjoyed myself there i guess I just like Christmas lights and different decorations."
"If you have German heritage, or are Lutheran, or interested in micro-cultures don’t miss the Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum in Altenburg. I stepped in and was immediately transported back to my Oma’s house a generation earlier. I visited while the Christmas decorations were up and it was beautiful. If you get a see the church and original seminary that’s icing on the cake."
