"Lots of wide grass trails and a variety of landscapes. A few aging kids playground and even a ball diamond but we had the place to ourselves on a sunny fall day! Closes at 3pm after Oct 1 which is WAY too early! Better than Starved Rock because no crowds!"
"Gravel roads, very pretty. A few picnic areas with play equipment for kids. Lots of horse trails."
"This is a beautiful park, but the hours are limited (9am until 7pm in the summer, and only until 3pm in the winter), trail maintenance is spotty and the signage is terrible. 333+ acres of prairie and stream beds. More than 10 miles of trails, mostly mowed grass, but some dirt singletrack available too. Park caters mostly to hikers and horseback riders. Not much in the way of infrastructure at the park, but there are a few aging playground areas and places to tie up your houses and park your big horse trailers. Park has huge potential to be one of the best in the area (rivaling Starved Rock and Matthiessenl, but the county does a poor job managing and promoting this aging park."
"Decent little park for hiking, very beautiful and the trails are easy enough for most. Only negative is the hours, it's summer and people like to get out and hike prior to the heat getting to warm but the park doesn't open until 9 every day so by the time you get a few miles done it's bright and hot out. Would be better if they matched starved rocks hours and had the park open for those that like to get out and put some miles down before it's hot and humid."
"Very nice will kept park. Decent trails and shelter areas. The reason this park doesn't get as much love is the lack of features but it's still a nice area."
