"I have a daughter with autism who is embraced at this school! The special education department is wonderful. I was so nervous about middle school—6th grade was scary for me as a parent, but now she’s in 7th and she’s doing amazingly well. She’s even in band. The band director has a big heart and a lot of patience. Everyone has been great. Advice? Communicate, give the benefit of the doubt, and make sure you give your kiddo a chance to shine. ****Edited 01/23/18 to add: we are now homeschooling our daughter. Safety and curriculum, along with her teacher abruptly leaving mid-year were all factors."
"I have a love-hate relationship with this school. I love this school because of all the fun events they provide. I also like how the staff will address issues immediately and take initiative. There is also a lot of nice people to meet! But the downside of this school, is horseplay. You can’t go a day without being pushed around in the hallway."
"I'm so tired of dealing with bullying at this school. My child has been bullied since day one of 6th grade, and all the administration does is tell my child to "just walk away" if someone hits her. Seriously??? Walk away??? How about instead of the slaps on the hands, you have an assembly like the old days and teach these kids that bullying and fighting is not going to be tolerated! Kids are bringing back the 10 second fights between each other, even friends! The school knows of this and they are not even getting involved. How do you know of this going on, and not try to change it? This school is horrible and not an anti-bullying campus as it claims to be."
"The best middle school orchestra! Thank you Ms. Cooper for all you do!"
"I went to Jordan for 6th, 7th, and half of 8th grade. My sixth grade year I was really nervous, but on the first day I went into my science class and sat down thinking no one would talk to me. Then a girl walked in and sat down next to me and said hello. She became my best friend that year until she moved. My seventh grade year was the best year I had! I was very happy~ eighth grade year wasn't my happiest or beat year, but I made a friend in my science class. I didn't think much about him until I moved to California in January of 2010. Now in my junior year going into senior year, he's my best friend and I'm thankful we got to know each other at Jordan^_^ So many memories, good and bad, but I will never forget them."
