"School year 1966/67, my 5th grade teacher was Dolores R. DuBose (my mother). Under the PVIL administration, segregated schools like Kirkpatrick Elementary had a proud student body and teaching staff. We were competitive academically. Parent and teacher collaboration enabled the Northside community to develop a cohesive relationship. I have fond memories of my elementary school days there. "It really did take a village to raise a child"."
