"Our family absolutely loves Acton Academy! We have one young learner, age 7, who started her first year at Acton Academy Amarillo this year. It's hard to sum up in just a few short sentences all the reasons we love this school. We have seen our daughter go from crying on her first day because she was so nervous, to volunteering for speaking roles in front of all the parents and fellow students at her schools exhibitions. She has come home after these exhibitions saying things like "Today was a good day mama, I was so brave." To see the joy and love for learning that is fostered in her at this school is such a gift. While the academic learning is most certainly happening, we have been most impressed with the emphasis this school places on character development. It truly is unbelievable and such a missing piece in many school systems. At the end of every session, the learners have the opportunity to provide feedback on others learners contribution to the studio and receive feedback on their on contribution as well. In receiving some not great feedback or what they would call 'cool feedback' one session, I asked my daughter how it made her feel to hear this 'cool feedback'. She responded and said "I like it because I like to know how I can be better." Amazing. What a wonderful skill to develop at such a young age. We could go on and on. We love this school."
