"I was referred to Dr McConnell by my friend and I am glad I made this decision ..her staff is awesome ..the nurses are great they are very nice and helpful and Dr McConnell is so kind and knowledgeable she delivered my baby boy with no issues. I was a high risk pregnancy and she took care of me throughout my pregnancy journey and postpartum. she always answers my concerns and makes my appointment go very smoothly. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for prenatal care and Iam sticking with her for future well being appointments ."
"If I can give this “doctor” 0 stars I would. It was my first time going to see an OBGYN. I was very nervous. Her staff is very friendly but as for her, she was not friendly very robotic. She did not make me feel comfortable and to top it all off said I was overweight while fully naked. I have body issues as much as every other woman and that definitely triggered me especially since I was nude. After my appointment I went straight to my car and cried. I’ve never heard that from any of my doctors visits over the years, that I am overweight. I didn’t understand why she was so obsessed with my weight while I was there for a whole other reason? That was the only thing she was concerned about, my weight. Did not care about what I came there for. Did not care about my concerns she just brushed them off. It was very dehumanizing and embarrassing experience for me. I would never go to her again, nor should you."
"She was my doctor she said I was too big to see the sex of the baby, she kept pushing the blood test on me and said there was no way she would able to see the baby. I knew she was wrong which she was 100 percent I paid $85 that same day went downtown Houston and got a sonogram of my baby and found out it was a boy. She made me do the blood test it was a boy. I had gestational diabetes and she wanted me to take metformin and take my sugar logs she said I wasn’t doing that and sent me a paper saying she was dropping me as a patient I had pictures and logs of all my glucose I was sending them in and I was taking the pills. She didn’t know anything that was going on when she walked into the room and everytime I had a concern she became agitated. I got better care after she dropped me. She speaks to women as they’re children she over speaks when I try and talk she acts like me being there was messing up her day. Terrible bedside manners, I see why they got her to record I don’t believe a word in the video"
"Dr McConnell has terrible bedside manners, very dismissive and shows no compassion for patients. I will never go back. I wish I would have recorded the conversation and how she treated me."
"Dr. McConnell was my dr. for my pregnancy. Early on she was kind, informative and helpful. As the pregnancy progressed she herself was pregnant and her due date was about 6 weeks after me. As I entered the 3rd trimester and towards the end of my pregnancy she became pushy, short, and her attitude changed. The last month of pregnancy I asked her if she felt that she should be the Dr. for my delivery and that I appreciated her service up until that point, but I understood if she would like to have me change providers. She declined. When it came to weeks 37+ she repeatedly insisted that I induce but for no medical reasons or concerns. Simply because there was availability at the hospital and that she was worried about my "comfort" levels. I declined and said I am doing great and maintaining activity and do not feel the need to do that. As I reached 38 weeks she again said let's induce there's availability. I had no need though and no dilation. I asked if there was a medical reason and she said no. At 40 weeks she insisted I schedule an induction date for 40 w + 5d. I agreed. When it came to delivery she said she was too tired to deliver my child and called in another obgyn with the practice. At this point I had been pushing for 3 hours. I said I understood and thanked her for her efforts. The new obgyn came in and insisted that Dr. McConnell said we need to do a C-Section even though Dr. McConnell had not yet mentioned that to me. I felt like as a patient I was not informed of the direction my progress was headed. The baby was not having any medical concerns at that point yet. My health was not in jeopardy. It truly felt like the Dr. wanted to just get things moving so they can be home by 9. My husband said the Dr. actually said last surgery of the day, every one can go home. After being released from the hospital I had post partum pre-eclampsia. Dr. McConnell did not recognize the signs. I decided at midnight that I needed to go the ER immediately after being released 14 hours prior. After being released from the hospital the 2nd time, my C-Section reopened 2 days later. I was concerned about infection and Dr. McConnell said I should be "fine" over a virtual appointment. I went in the next day because I was concerned and infection signs were present. It came back as an infection and prescribed antibiotics. At this point I switched doctors. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Ali (Kelsey Seybold- Vintage), but I will not be back for future pregnancies or obgyn care."
