"Such a fabulous school with such caring teachers and staff as well as great education and my son absolutely adores attending there"
"Teachers are petty, and when they decide they don't like you they point out every little thing you're child does. It's basically harassing/badgering behavior. Principal seems to have very little control over teachers."
"The teaching staff at Redland is supreme, but I am not as pleased with the administration as I was with another elementary school in the area. Their response to some parental concerns can lack action and some of their poorly-viewed actions have lacked proper response. For example, our youngest daughter has had multiple head & body injuries ON campus since starting Redland in 2014 (one requiring an ER visit), yet a bruise smaller than half of my pinky (caused during playtime with her younger brother) prompted a call to CPS last year. I understand "due diligence" and do not fault the school for their follow-up with the organization, but it's what came after that still generates anger as a parent. The administration permitted the male CPS caseworker to interview our daughter by himself in a private office with no other Redland staff member present. Even at a doctor's office, you have another professional present during most exams if the doctor is of the opposite gender, sometimes even when they're the same gender. Regardless, my daughter was only 7 and they allowed this intimidatingly large, adult male to interview her and take pictures of her. As a parent, I expect a school to do a better job ensuring my child's safety. In this instance they failed, in my opinion, and their response "It's allowable if we can see into the office through a window" is not acceptable. Was someone really standing outside & observing this interaction from start to finish? How do they know if what was said/asked was proper? Does this "windowed office" mean our family's/daughter's privacy was violated by anyone who was just walking past? Although the CPS case was abbreviated and dismissed, I want the assurance the school won't allow another outside individual to be alone with our child in the future & I don't have that. As previously stated, the teaching staff makes this a 4-5 star school. The administration knocks it down to 3, but this is only my opinion based off of the above & some other incidents/observations involving our child."
"My daughter has gone to this school for 2 years now and we love the teachers."
"Rated #17 in the city. The principal is very accommodating and responds to all inquiries in a timely manner."
