"The Dr.Atkins is very professional and kind. If I had another baby I would choose her again. Thanks you"
"Zero stars. If you have a high risk pregnancy, never trust this doctor. I have a history of pregnancy loss, multiple miscarriages, last baby I lost was at 18 weeks, it's clear that I am a high risk, but she never wanted to refer me to a high risk doctor. I trusted her with my last pregnancy and I asked her to refer me to one, but she told me high risk doctors were only for "birth defect babies" which is completely wrong. I went into preterm labor at 25 weeks gestation, started having a lot of contractions, her team also sucks and I could have lost my baby and my life since I went to her office, they checked me and made fun of me, told me to go back home, drink water and wait for my next appointment in 10 days. I started crying out of fear and pain having those strong contractions every 2-3 minutes, they felt them and saw them, and the woman they had there to take care of me laughed at me and said I shouldn't be freaking out, and repeated "go home and drink cold water". I refused to listen and walked to the hospital and they got me admitted immediately, gave me a room, tried everything to stop the contractions that were getting worse every minute, every doctor and nurse that saw me asked me, "who is your high risk doctor?" I didn't have one... one of them asked "why?" , because my OB didn't think it was necessary to refer me to one.... she said they were for birth defects only... my baby was born the very next day at 25 weeks and 5 days and spent 104 days in the NICU fighting for his life. We are having some issues, consequences from being born with extreme prematurity. I know if I would have been seen by a high risk doctor we could have made it to term, and I also know that if I listened to that woman at her office and went back home that day like she told me to and refused to do anything, me and my baby would have lost our lives since I had placenta abruption right after that and started bleeding a lot, thats why they rushed me into an emergencyc-section. Do yourself a favor, keep your baby and yourself safe, go with a doctor that takes your life seriously."
"While I believe she is a doctor that does not sugar coat and is straight forward.....she needs to show at least some empathy and compassion for her patients. I began going to her last summer and that fall had a mammogram done. During that time, she had been increasing my estrogen because of my hormones. Prior to Christmas I received a phone from a pathologist telling me I had breast cancer. The pathologist said "your doctor" will call you. A day or two later I receive a phone call from a medical assistant who provided a couple of cancer surgeons and then commented "just contact us for any addition medication". After meeting with a cancer surgeon, I learned my breast cancer was estrogen dependent. Luckily, I had immediately stopped taking all the estrogen she had prescribed to me the day the pathologist contacted me saying I had cancer. No one from her office ever followed up to tell old me to STOP taking any of the estrogen medication. No history of cancer in my family. Research has shown breast cancer relies on estrogen to develop and grow."
"I absolutely loved my experience with Dr.Atkins. She is very informative and very honest. She is straight to the point and is exactly what I needed for my first pregnancy. Recommend her services 10/10. She was very attentive to my babyboy and did an amazing job catering to his needs as he was growing in the womb. Dr.Atkins has a great sense of humor and made my visits something to look forward to other than being able to see my baby. I love her very much as a doctor and couldn’t have asked for anyone better."
"Dr. Atkins is a fabulous doctor. She does not sugar coat things, which I very much appreciate. Her bedside manners are fine, she tries to keep things lighthearted. I began seeing her shortly before getting pregnant with twins and was delighted to hear that she would allow a vaginal delivery if the positioning was right. Not many providers are supportive of this and immediately refer you to high risk and prepare for a cesarean but not Dr. Atkins. She was wonderful throughout the pregnancy, listened to concerns and paid close attention to my warning signs of preterm labor. At every appointment she made time to listen and answer questions. The only complaint I have is the wait time but it seems like they are taking steps to fix the problem which is great."
