"Has gotten too expensive. I actually love this place, but it’s gotten too expensive for what it offers. I have memberships to big box stores, which affects my opinions. I know food prices have gone up overall everywhere, but part of the benefit of going here was that the prices were cheaper, because the items are close to and/or past “sell by” dates, yet still safe to eat and tasted the same. Now, the prices are comparable and oftentimes more expensive than bulk stores. So there is no incentive for me to buy something that is past the “best by”/“sell by” date when I can buy something fresher that is cheaper and/or the same price. I still like the store and can sometimes find things I can’t find elsewhere, but someone really needs to re-evaluate some of their price points compared to other stores. For example there is no reason for me to spend $14.81 or $15.27 (current prices) for 3 lbs of mozzarella sticks with unknown dates when I can get a 5 lb box from Sam’s club for $13.98 with a known date of guaranteed freshness. Honestly, the prices have started feeling a little predatory, as there are probably many people who don’t have memberships to bulk stores and/or have transportation barriers that make this store their only real option for buying bulk items. Therefore they have little to no option, but to pay these higher prices, vs someone like myself who can shop around and know the comparable prices."
"The food prices are GREAT!!...I just don't like the idea of someone.. telling the cashier how much...and how many items are being purchased..I had to watch and listen carefully..to both the cashier and the person calling out the prices..of the food..and I DID catch a Slip Up .. with both ..they did correct it... when i mention the correct price..of the items"
"Not very much selection/items when I went, plus not really the best discount. Fine if you're local, but not worth making a drive for."
"I do most of my emergency preps here, though they don't always have what I'm looking for and some potluck is involved, the prices are so good I always check here first before my regular grocery shopping anywhere else. Even during the pandemic shutdown some things they never seemed to run out of, like toilet paper, cleaning supplies and of course food. It's the sole reason I made sure I got myself a 5 cubic foot chest freezer, (and it filled up fast) There is also Dollar Tree, Soulard Famer's Market and Globe Drugs nearby."
