"Great state park near the river perfect for paddle boarding. The Living history barn was a great place to take the kids. We watched them milk the cows, make soap, make butter, and watch them sew using an old-fashioned, sewing machine. Fun to see all the animals wandering about before heading out on a nice hike through the woods to see Longhorn cattle. Very educational weekend!"
"The state park is near the LBJ National Park. They have a living history farm to tour as well as an exhibit on LBJ."
"Learn all about LBJ and his contributions to the state. One of the coolest parts of the park is its historical farm. See what life was like back in the early 1900s. When went to check out the Christmas decorations and everything is real and handmade. Worth a trip if you’re in the Fredericksburg area."
"Great Park to see a lot of history concerning Lyndon B. Johnson. One of the neat things as they have a working farm and staff dressed in the era, the farm would have been active in. Take your time and look at all the different stops along the way."
"Great experience stepping back in time enjoying beautiful grounds and learning about the life, family, and passions of President Johnson. I enjoyed walking the grounds and taking in the scenery. A thunderstorm rolled in during my visit and was able to get some pics of that with the landscape. I would absolutely recommend visiting the site's starting with the visitors center, walking through the trails if physically able to, visiting the plantation, then driving through site's where President Johnson lived and worked."
