"First. Myself or family DO NOT like leaving less than “good” reviews. We are good people in general and just think sometimes unfortunate things happen. We feel that it is how the problem is resolved that separates good businesses. I feel that small businesses in our community are what matters. So, I leave this review with sadness. I am leaving it though, because I feel that this needs to be avoided in the future and perhaps it be an opportunity for the owners and Manager (Allison) of Blush in Crystal Lake to better address this in the future. I booked an appointment to touch up my “money piece” and to tone with a professional hair salon & spa. I also asked for a haircut. The haircut is ok. But, the stylist that I was given, wasn’t capable of performing this type of service. I am leaving her name as “E” because I feel that she will one day be a GREAT stylist and I don’t want to discourage her and she is a sweetheart and this is just business. She ruined my hair. Completely and totally. It’s fried, it’s damaged, it’s not a good color and not what I asked for in the least. I expressed concern initially while I was there. She attempted to fix it but sadly, it just got worse. I was there from 11-3 approximately. What I asked for should have maybe been 4 foils a haircut and tone. My hair is absolutely ruined and I am beside myself. I am starting a new job on Tuesday and wanted to freshen up. Worst part wasn’t even that they ruined my hair. It was how it was handled. When I left, I was promised a “Master Stylist” was to fix it 9:45 today. Last evening, I emailed Blush (owners) directly and they refused my refund and made it seem as if they were doing me a favor by not charging me for todays “repairs”. When I arrived, I was told that if I didn’t sign a release of liability- (which should be used in a situation where I myself damaged my hair, not them) I wouldn’t be able to have my hair fixed. Worst of all, they never even offered my a refund of what I paid yesterday. Needless to say, my hair isn’t fixed, it’s fried off and now I’ve signed a release. I’m 19. I really didn’t know what I was signing. So, my goal is to be sure everyone is aware. Another suggestion might be, when Allison spoke to myself and my mom (who paid for the hair) she was pretty flippant. She told her and myself she “doesn’t even do hair”. We would suggest you get a manager that does. We also looked at the website and it appears that “E” isn’t a hair stylist but an assistant to the stylist. Very disappointing. This really could have been avoided. She burnt me! With bleach (actual skin burns) :( We hope that you all learn from this and we wish you continued success in the future. If you were ever considering refunding the money you charged for this horrific experience- we ask that you donate it to a local charity and update the review with a receipt. Also in the future, having a client sign a release for something YOUR salon did- is unprofessional to say the least and in my opinion, an admission of guilt. We had no intention of pursuing this legally. We just wanted you all to right the wrong. I will attach proof. For anyone seeing this, please know that there are talented stylists here. I would personally recommend Danielle (if she is still there) as she was who my mom and myself originally went to when we moved this part of the US 6 years ago. I am so terribly sad about my hair but, I realize there are bigger problems in this world. I hope this helps. ♥️"

"Had my hair done here about a month ago, and unfortunately because of my line of work I wear my hair up almost constantly so I really wasn’t able to enjoy my newly highlighted hair until just recently when I went to style it for a date with my husband (we aren’t able to go out ever due to how many hours I work). I am absolutely appalled by the placement of highlights, and how horrible my hair looks. I don’t even understand how someone could do this and can’t believe the amount of money I spent for careless work."
