"School is so laid back! My kid moved to Norris Elementary last year, and everything was so hard for her! She hadn't learned many things at Sem that the kids at Norris knew! She didn't know long division in 5th grade because in 4th grade, Sem never taught her! We moved at May, 2016 when she was in 4th Grade, and she didn't know long division! We had to set her up in a LOT of tutoring! There was also a lot of things that kids shouldn't be doing at this school. My kid's friend was dating in 3RD GRADE! Another friend got her 20 dollar bill stolen and spent at the book fair. There are even kids stealing from the book fair! Most of these kids will go to Maus. IF you have heard about Maus, then you may have heard about the drugs that were sold, and the suspensions. The staff is amazing, but I recommend not going to this school if you are moving to Frisco. Move to Villages of Stonelake, The Arbors @ Willow Bay, or any other place. NOT THIS SCHOOL!"
"In the past 6 years, Sem Elementary has not been without it's problems. Over all, with the funding they're given and the restrictions they have to work within I believe they do a wonderful job. The teachers we have had in our years at Sem have been caring, dedicated, and well-intentioned. The principals and specials staff have come and gone, and we have enjoyed working with them all. My children have always felt safe and supported in their classrooms, and I have felt validated and supported in ARD meetings and parent/teacher conferences. The receptionist at the front office is a bit gruff, but she gets the job done, ha! My main concern with Sem is the high turnover in teaching staff every year. I hope to see it improve, as we have several more years to invest there. p.s. I think some of the previous commenters have actually been children upset about homework - so keep that in mind if you're looking at sending your kids to this school."
"Good school with nice programs"
"They are HIGHLY unorganized!!! It's like the blind leading the blind, the teachers and office staff do not know what the other is doing, and guess who suffers??? The kids and parents. The all you get is Oh we are sorry! Ya right! Pass on this school if at all possible!"
