"Fantastic Presidential Library. Great look into Ws life and presidency. Awesome Docents and staff. Great restaurant. New for this year is the actual Situation Room so definitely check that out, only open on weekends as I understand. Also the replica of the Oval Office is the only one you can actually walk around in. Highly recommended. A credit to George and Laura Bush’s legacy."
"I was in Dallas for the Christmas holiday, and I decided to check out the George W. Bush Presidential Center on the SMU campus. Prepare to go through an airport-style security check when entering the Center. There was no line, and I do not see the need to buy advance tickets. Tickets are $26, which I thought was a little steep - and parking is another $10. As you enter the lobby, you can see all of the gifts from foreign dignitaries and the American people to President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, including jewelry, swords and even fancy dog bowls. The temporary exhibit is all about Freedom and includes an on loan copy of the Magna Carta as well as other key documents from global democracy. The permanent exhibition goes through President Bush's early life, the election vs. Al Gore, and then his two terms including a large section on 9/11 (with warped steel beams from the WTC). The most popular part of the exhibit is a replica of the Bush Oval Office, where you can actually have your picture taken at the White House Presidential desk. The docents are very helpful with their added information, and there is a gift shop as you leave."
"As far as presidential libraries go it's OK. The exact or replica of the oval office is great. They also have a piece from the World Trade Center towers. One of my favorite things to see at the presidential libraries are the gifts that are given while they're in office. It's worth seeing. They have a photographer in the oval office but make sure you get your own picture because they charge I believe it's $33 for a set of pictures so just get your own with your own camera."
"The visit here was really cool. Got to read a lot about the former president and the different events that happened during his presidency. Walking through the center gives a perspective of what he went through during the duration of his time in office. Some things you may be able to relate to as for some of the events, I know for myself, I was still in school when they happened. The most touching tribute/ event is the World Trade Center attacks. Part of the south tower can be found here and it really brings back the memories of this horrific tragedy."
"Very interesting place, filled with tons of history. With any presidential museum, it's important to take everything with a pinch of salt. It paints the president in a positive light, and might skip over their failures. For example, I didn't see much about the lies of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Also, it's quite pricey compared to other museums in the area at $26. Plus $10 parking. A presidental picture is also $30-35."
