"Mission San Antonio de Valero is located in front of the Alamo in Alamo Plaza. It is a good size area with a lot of information and some artifacts to check out for free. There it is also surrounded by a lot more history of the Alamo and Texas. This historical site is a must visit when visiting Sa Antonio."
"We got the free tickets to go into the church part but you can buy tickets to see other exhibits which we will do later on. It was hot and humid outside so going into the air conditioned church was a blessed relief. The shop behind it is very well stocked and you can sometimes see re-enactments or people who have exhibits set up outside to talk about period information that is very cool and things I didn’t know. The outside area is very cool, lots of statues and information about what happened! Worth making the trip to it if you are in San Antonio! Riverwalk is not too far away either!"
"It's a nice place with a lot of story behind it, a mandatory place to visit if you come to San Antonio. You can walk for free over the garden and take good photos, but if you want to visit inside of the buildings it is a cheap ticket to buy. It is better to get guide information or to learn before seeing because you can understand better the history."
"It is important place in the Texas history. It is known the Alamo Castle. When Mexican Antonio López de Santa Anna invaded Texas during the Texas Revolution, as many as 200 Texans managed to resist the 5,000-6,000-strong Mexican army for 12 days, taking refuge inside the ruined walls of the castle's inner courtyard, surrounding the castle and keeping it under constant cannon fire. On the thirteenth day (March 6, 1836), the Mexicans entered the castle and Mrs All Texans were killed, except for a woman named Dickinson, her child and two servants. Moreover it is famous for the world with a film that John Wayne took role. But Enterence is not free. I thing it should be free particularly for child. Some big companies can be support as in Europe."
"Went there when Obama closed National Parks. Alamo is a Texas territory. Love the place. Have watched several movies of the battle. Great tour."
