"So great that this little building is preserved for future generations to have a living history they can touch and see. Back in the day when there was no electricity ice was something you had to seek out. This little building would store ice that was shipped in from elsewhere. Townspeople would then come and get a block for their homes to put in their ice box for their refrigerator so that they could keep it cold. This is located right in the town square across the street from the courthouse."
