"Our customer has a Grasshopper mower. He asked me to repair it saying that he had just spent over $1,000 to have it repaired. When I started working on the mower, I found the ticket where it had been worked on by Amarillo Outdoor. Upon taking the mower apart to diagnose what was wrong, I found that it had not been worked on at all. It needed a new battery and had several other electrical problems. I then ordered a part I needed for it from Amarillo Outdoor. I was told that the part would be there within a week and that I would be called when it got there. Two weeks went by and I called them. I was told it was on back order and was AGAIN told that they would call me when it came in. Onne month later, I called and was told that there part did come in but they weren't sure where it was. I went to the store and they found the part. It was not the part I ordered. I was then told that the part I needed was discontinued and that this was the replacement. I would have to rewire the whole machine to use the new part. I asked why I wasn't contacted and told about this, why I wasn't contacted and told that the part was in and was met with blank stares. I elected not to use the part and was then told I would have to pay the $40 restock fee. I asked why I was responsible for this even though they never contacted me to discuss the situation was met with blank stares. I think we will be taking out business elsewhere unless Amarillo Outdoor does better. Very poor customer communication and service. Not very honest or forthcoming in my book."

"Brought my mower in for service/repair on March 21st, 2023. It is an older mower so I expressed to the employee that if the cost of service and/or repair was going to be over a certain amount I would just buy a new one. I was told it would be 10 business days until they could look at it and they would call me with an estimate of repairs. (Which was fine) Well, after two and half weeks of not hearing anything I called around April 7th and was told it would be looked at in the next couple days. Cool. Fast foward to about two weeks later...I STILL hadn't heard anything. No phone call. No updates. Nothing. So, I called again around April 18th and was told that they were going to do some repairs and are waiting on parts. Cool. I know they can't control inventory issues for their suppliers...that is fine. Well, today is May 3rd (another two weeks later) and I once again had to call to get some kind of update on what is going on. I have not recieved a SINGLE phone call from them. It has always been me calling for an update. I will say that today I finally talked to someone that gave me an actual date in which I can expect to get my mower back. I guess they ended up ordering the part from a different distributor. I understand the delay in getting parts but it's the total lack of communication I have recieved from day 1 that is frustrating. I don't feel like its too much to ask to update customers every once in a while what is going on."

"I don't leave many reviews, but Mark went way above and beyond...I came in with a damaged Echo chainsaw needing a part order, I thought. Mark looked closer at what I brought in and, with some effort plus getting himself fairly dirty, realized the tensioner mechanism inside was not worn out as I thought but just really jammed up. He cleaned the area and put it all back together...right there in front of me on the parts counter. Took him probably 15 minutes, but he wouldn't charge me. I really appreciate the service here, and Mark has earned our loyalty! I've even had a previous experience there buying a new Stihl FS91R weed eater. As I was paying, they took it back into the shop to get everything started and running (this is their custom). The tech couldn't get the idle to his liking, so they took another brand new one off the shelf and got that one ready instead. Not many places do business like this anymore. Thank you!"
