"I would give this dentist 0 stars!!! Horrible experience at this terrible office!!!Dr Desai took advantage of telling me that he did not believe in dentures for me and proceeded to rip off my insurance company and me!!!Dr Desai left me hanging and has incompetent people working for him with the insurance companies!!!! Hopefully my insurance company will be investigating him. He needs to be investigated that whole practice.!!!!!!!"
"Very shady business! I was forking out money left and right and they sent me a tally of codes and charges. They changed the terms on my Care Credit card without explaining and tried charging me an additional 5% which was not the original agreement and they said they would take it off but, did it again. Since they couldn't produce a statement I called my insurance company and they couldn't even determine the codes they were billing on my account. My permenant crown that Desai did the work on came off within a few days and Desai charged me again for it and had me sign a form before proceeding. IT WAS HIS ERROR! I'm not a dentist. HE should have covered it! If a permenant crown falls out within days, it HIS shotty work. It shouldn't have happened. I was told that the accounting girl was out when I called about a week ago was told she would call me tomorrow and I'm still waiting. They are still using my charge card and are not persistant in billing. Parin Desai is a good talker but, doesn't back his work and has no business running an office. He has non-certified dental assistants that haven't completed school doing some of the work. All I can say is..........RUNNNNNNNNNNNNN as fast as you can! I'm running straight to the BBB! I have dental insurance but, I think he was double dipping. Watch out! God I wished I read the reviews before going!!! What a BIG MISTAKE!"
"I was regularly going to Dr. Desai, and I thought he was a really good dentist. I had an emergency on a Sunday night and waited until Monday morning to call. I called and nobody answered. I left a message and nobody called me back, even after calling their emergency number. I ended up going to another dentist, who took care of the problem after moving some of his appointments to get me in. I've been there ever since, and I'm totally happy with their work. My new dentist even pointed out some of Desais errors."
"Absolutely terrible experience here, would give it 0 stars if I could. Dr. Desai looks at your age, any risk factors you may have, and the last time you went to the dentist to reccomend your treatment plan. He barely glanced at my teeth and when he did he was telling me my gum line was "tender" and bleed when I flossed (which it doesn't and he wouldn't know because my teeth weren't touched with any instruments while I was there). He told me because I hadn't been to the dentist recently that I needed a deeper clean from the hygienist. I was then brought a bill for over $200 ($1000 before insurance) for scaling. I asked for an explanation of what scaling was and was told its because I have gum disease. I asked for Dr. Desai, who said I dont have gum disease, but would be at risk if I didn't get the scaling done. I said I didn't want the scaling, just a cleaning and he told me it would be boarderline medical malpractice to do the cleaning instead of the scaling and said he would not allow it. When I tried asking if it would be actually harmful he never said it would be, just kept saying he would not do the cleaning until the scaling was done. When I questioned him again, he became belittling and said, "are you a dentist?" and "have you been to 8 years of dental school?" I am not a dentist, but have never been to such a terrible office, or treated in that way. I am a nurse and have worked with doctors in a hospital setting for over 8 years and have never dealt with anyone so condescending. My husband received similar treatment and was also told he had gum disease with no education or further explanation, although Dr. Desai told him he would be brought back in for teaching, but never was. Not to mention the office was dirty and unkempt, with people eating and belching in the waiting room (where theres a no food or drink sign). There were also numerous billing errors that did not match with our insurance rates and had different pricing on mine and my husband's treatment plans for the same treatment. We have since been to another dentist whose office is clean and who said neither of us needed a deep cleaning "scaling" and that my husband had no signs of gum disease."
"I don't normally do this, and I even decided not to do it after initially thinking about it. However, I felt I was wronged, and I'm sure that others have felt this way with Dr. Desai as well. My entire family at some point or another has been to Dr. Desai. We don't question his ability to do quality dental work, but really his integrity to his patients. I was the last in my family out of the 10+ people to stop going to Dr. Desai. Again, he's a cool guy, and knows what he's doing but the pricing is ridiculous. I'm writing this review because Dr. Desai told me that even though my Blue Cross PPO was out of network, he would adjust the price to make it similar to an in-network doctor. However, a year later he sends me a bill, and I by no means am exaggerating the year time frame. I got some cavities filled and regular dental work that someone may need. He ended up charging me over 400 dollars for something that I would've paid half the price with an in network dentist. He disregarded our agreement of keeping the price quoted as in network doctor and charged me his absurd fees. Forget sending me a bill and threatening to send a collection agency after me, he refused to return my calls even though I called him at least 5 times. It was frustrating as a patient to have to call a dentist week after week and not getting a hold of them. I eventually paid the money even though I knew he was ripping me off because I didn't have a choice. However I know I'm not the first patient he's done this to, and I'd bet I won't be the last. In fact go check out Yelp, and you'll see others reviews similar to mine. If you don't want to get ripped off, find someone else. There's a dentist every mile, don't go to the one that rips people off of their hard earned money."
