Shawnee Health - Carbondale Dental: Ralph Kimbrough, DMD

"I had a dental emergency and called every day for 5 days trying to get in. Dr. Kimbrough was on vacation and no one else there could help me, since he is the one I had seen in the past. Receptionists and staff were rude and unhelpful on the phone and in person. I have 2 major dental insurance policies and have always paid any balance in full. They sent me to the Shawnee Medical Center for antibiotics and pain management. The first thing the P.A. (Patty) said was, "I'll give you antibiotics but no pain medicine." Anyone who has had severe dental pain knows that this is unacceptable. Any reputable medical or dental facility would give antibiotics and enough pain medication to last until the antibiotics can take hold. I called another dental facility where I had never been a patient and they offered kindness and same-day care, for which they were paid in full. Even though I think Dr. Kimbrough is a wonderful dentist, I would never return to Shawnee for any kind of medical or dental help. If this is the kind of treatment given when one is most in need, I don't want any part of them."
