Lariat Steakhouse

"It was good the atmosphere with the fireplace warm and glowing was awesome. The entrees were hot and perfectly cooked. However the sides were bland and lacked adequate seasoning. The server was friendly,pleasant,and experienced. Loved the linen napkins, and the place settings. It was my birthday dinner with family and friends ane eating at the Lariat Steakhouse made it a very enjoyable birthday."

"Steak was over cooked (both mine and my husband’s), strange smell in the bar area and the bathroom was flooded ( I feel bad this happened to them on a busy night). Could not offer any substitute for someone with dairy intolerance for the baked potato toppings (I ended up using their horseradish sauce which was actually very good) and many things per the menu were cooked in butter. For the price and ruining a good steak, I will never voluntarily be back. On the positive side we had reserved a private room and it was great! Server ( 1 for 9 adults and 13kids) was great. Asked the parents if certain things were ok and even joked with the kids."

"We were in town for a laser conference. Found this restaurant via Google. One of the best steakhouses I've been to ever. Beautifully perfect cook on my steak. French onion soup was to die for (and I'm not a big French onion soup fan). The atmosphere is great. The drinks are fun and good (mud slide pictured)! The service is amazing as well. We have a bunch of fun loving goofy folks in our group. They got as good as they gave. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed an amazing meal. THANK YOU FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE MEAL AND VISIT!!!"

"Decided to try the steakhouse for my birthday. My entire family of 7 went. We had reservations and were sat in a tight table that literally backed to the chairs of the other table. My mom is in a wheelchair and by shear luck we fit her in. We waited a long time to even get drinks. Ordered appetizers that were subpar. Definitely didn't stand up to the reviews we have read. Soup next and it was oversalted, the onions were burnt and not edible. Don't get the French onion soup. Entrees came, steak was burnt for my dad, my moms catfish was fine, my sins burger was terrible, my daughter's chicken sandwich was burnt and over friend, my daughter in law had fried chicken that wasn't cooked all the way and my son had a ribeye that was just ok. Everything was so poor quality and I was so disappointed since I picked the restaurant. We have learned our lesson and will not be returning. Small staff that can't handle all the tables, food took forever and wasn't even good. So sad that this is where I celebrated my 57th Birthday."

"This is a landmark restaurant as you can tell from other reviews. First time back in some years. It has really been expanded from the years before. Our server Hope was great. Most things went well - Like the ribs (see photo) but no need for a full rack. Lasted two more meals at home :) .... others had steak which was so so. Au gratin I would skip. Salad was room temp so not crisp. Cocktails were so far the highest price in Peoria (above Connected, Rizzis, Joe's) and no obvious reason for the high price ($16.50 bourbon drink). plus tax and service so $20. I'd come back to support local but skip the au gratin, keep the ribs half order, and go for beer."
