"Absolutely loved the pizza! Definitely my new favorite. The flavor was fantastic, I highly recommend giving it a try. Excellent experience overall."
"Called just before 5pm on a Wednesday to order takeout and she let us know that first pickup slot was 7:55pm. I really appreciated the heads up and their accuracy. It was ready right at 7:55pm like they said so when a place is popular and can accurately let you know when your food is going to be ready it’s a big win in my book! As far as the pizza goes we had 2 larges and both were delicious! Love the crispy crust. We did pepperoni and hot honey on one and then on the second one was sausage, peppers, and mushrooms. Both were delicious! Lots of the little pepperonis that crisped on some edges which I love! We will certainly go back!"
"Finally got to try this place after it was on our list for a while. We drove 40 minutes just for pizza...and it fully lived up to the hype! We've been to A LOT of pizza places all over the US and this is definitely up there with the best of them! Perfectly thin (cracker-thin, airy, crunchy but not tough at all) crust. Reminded me a lot of our other Chicago favorites: Pat's in LP and Vito&Nicks. Call and order when they open because they book up fast. There's a public parking lot just left of the shop and street parking along the main road. There are 2 smaller tables inside and some picnic tables outside so very limited seating in the winter. Most people probably carry out but nothing is as good as fresh, out of the oven!"
"Small place, but the pizzas are a big hit. I ordered two pizzas and an Italian beef sandwich, and both were very good. I will definitely be a returning customer. My son did his one slice challenge and rated it a solid 7.5 out of 10, and in my opinion, that's pretty accurate."
"When I first heard about this place, of course I was skeptical. Chicago has some pretty great tavern style pizza, but also some really bad pizza. I was going to be in the area so I called right at 3 and ordered a sausage pizza. I picked it up, and I knew as soon as I got in the car and smelled the aroma, this was gonna be good. Got to my destination and opened the box. Pizza was incredible looking. Toppings evenly distributed, sauce all the way out to the edge of the crust. Cooked on the well done side (which it should be) I took a bite and was instantly transported to another dimension. This tastes like the pizza I had from another local place that closed 30 years ago. I cannot stress enough how good this pizza is. The crust was very thin and very crispy, even in the middle (even the leftovers the next day cold was crispy), the sauce is thick and flavorful. The sausage is homemade and has a nice heat to it. They have the golden recipe that makes a Chicago thin crust perfect. They ferment their dough, and they use the best ingredients. The space is quite small and the oven is not very big (Vintage 1956). There is only one size - 14". These folks have some passion for the art. I went back a week later to order again, and this time I also got a pie for my mom who does not eat cheese. She was also floored at how great it was. (see mom I told you!) Both sausage, mushroom, green pepper and onion. They were incredible as well! Crust holds up to veggies too! As I was picking up the pizza's the owners were there and they are super friendly and love talking about pizza. One thing I noticed is that the person making a pizza in the back was really taking their time. I think this probably contributes to the quality. They only can make so many pizza's a day so why not make them all GREAT! They do not accept cash, so bring your card, and try to call early since they do tend to sell out. This folks. is the best pizza in Chicago as far as I'm concerned. My measure of goodness is Villa Nova in Stickney. My family has been going there probably since my dad was a teenager in the 1950's. This is better. Can you open a location in Lake Bluff? :)"
