"Updated 2.23.24. Not a good experience! NOT AT ALL! I bragged this place up and down to my friends because of my first experience, but what a MASSIVE letdown! We were greeted by walking through a cigarette smoking area with a gentleman in a suit smoking right in front of the main doors. With no way to avoid the smoke and both of us being very sensitive to cigarette smoke, this was not a good start just to enter the building. We waited quite a while just to order our drinks, and then again to order food. Both of our pizzas ended up being burned on the tops and bottoms, even the cupped pepperoni was burned. Some burnt area in top is expected, but not when it burned on bottom too, leaving a burnt taste in your mouth after eating... that's not pizza! It took a really long time for the pizzas, which looked like the toppings were thrown at it in chunks not even close to the outer part of the pizza, so it really became more of an 8 inch pizza with a lot of bread around the edges. And it was just warm, not even hot by the time we got it to our table. Our waitress seemed to keep disappearing like she was part of a magic show, leaving us for long periods and keeping us waiting for a really long time for the check. Don't schedule anything else if you're in a time crunch. There is no urgency or regard for your time. The atmosphere was loud because everyone seemed to be seated close together even though there were open areas to separate crowds. The televisions were all cooking shows and streamed horse races. It is not very entertaining during dining! I will not be back again in the evening hours or order anything for pickup in the evening hours. I might try it again during the day, though, in hopes of a better experience. My first experience and review below was during the daytime. I will never go in the evening again. Different cooks on the pizza oven, and they are not nearly as good as the guy preparing and cooking during the day. My purpose for going here was not to do a second review, but, to enjoy what I thought would be the same experience as the first. However, reviews help others make an informed decision about a place they want to try. END OF UPDATED REVIEW - EVENING OF 2.22.24 ___________"
"Bella Napoli, a sister restaurant of Morretis, recently opened up in the suburbs of Chicago! My initial visit was an absolute delight—the food was top-notch, and the service was exceptional. My favorite dishes were the margarita pizza, vodka pasta, and those addictive truffle fries. However, my recent return was a bit of a letdown. The service seemed a tad off, with errors in my order—like finding meat in the pesto pizza despite requesting a vegetarian option. Moreover, the flavors and quality of the dishes, especially the vodka pasta, were notably different from what I remembered. The inconsistency between visits was disappointing, especially after such a promising start. I hope that Bella Napoli can iron out these kinks and deliver a more consistent and satisfying dining experience."
"I thought it will be another good Italian place with wood fire pizza, unfortunately this is an American place with an Italian menu that it definitely not made with Italian recipes. The appetizer was not good at all, some bread that tasted very uncooked with oil and pepper. Pizza was all right but very dry, I feel like something was missing. Also, they brought the wrong pizza, then I eat already mine while my husband was still waiting for his. My drink was great, however my husband felt like he only got coke without whisky. One waitress was walking around with a tampon sticking out of her back pocket. I’m sorry but this place definitely did not look and felt professional, at least that’s how we felt... We really tried and hope it will be another place to go for pizza or pasta, but unfortunately we won’t be coming back. Also, they got slot machines, I feel like once people start playing it will be very loud, as it is right behind the tables."
"Pizza was good. We ordered the fennel sausage and pepperoni. Was plenty to share with my wife. Fried mozzarella was good, but not enough dipping sauce IMO for the amount of cheese. Pasta fajioli soup was also good. Bean based broth. If you're expecting Olive Garden soup, it's not. It's more authentic and good in its own right. Service was an issue. I'm not going to place all the blame on our waiter, except he may have forgotten about us a couple of times. But... it was a Friday and I believe they were under staffed that night. All in all a good experience. If I could, I'd give the ambience 4.5 stars."
"Good food with strong flavor but not over the edge- little on a safer side. Relatively good wine choice. It is a mix of restaurant / sports bar But big turn off for me is slot games next to the entrance inside. Not sure what to think about the vibe, it’s hard to mix Italian restaurant with sports bar and slot machines :/ 3.5 out of 5stars for me only because of good food."
