"For the residents, call 311 and let them know you want to make a CODE ENFORCEMENT COMPLAINT. Code enforcement will come and investigate the many code violations this management company has clearly ignored. Keep receipts of everything and continue to take lots of pictures. Record every conversation and let them know you are recording. Document everything Also contact Legal Aid and ask for an attorney to help with the consistent fraud upon you. This management company is harassing and attempting to gaslight you. Stand together and LEAVE AS SOON AS YOUR LEASE IS UP."
"Although the units and amenities are modern and beautiful, I am disappointed in the office management and their seemingly little care for residents. After their most recent change in management, there has been multiple complaints from numerous residents about the difficulty with getting in a contact with an agent either through the phone, email, or in person. In addition to difficulty with reaching assistance, there has been several issues with technical errors such as their payment processor and accurate contact information. I have been living at the apartment for 15 months, and for the most part, I rarely reach out to management; however, after I was charged a late fee, I felt like the management’s true colors became apparent. For the month of November, my rent payment finally went through after several failed attempts due to their payment portal. However, it wasn’t until the property manager emailed me 2 days after that I came to learn that it actually did not process despite the confirmation. I promptly emailed her back and attempted to reach the office via phone calls over the next week; however, I was not emailed back or returned a phone call. Finally After 3-4 weeks of contacting the office and reaching someone with whom I left a message… she herself did not call me back. Rather; she had another agent call me back to inform me that they could not waive the late fee despite having evidence from my bank showing my attempts as well as my record for never having paid rent late before. It truly feels like they do not care about their residents or are able to be understanding even with the issues that are on from their end."
"Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, because this place is fantastic. The staff is super friendly every time I have a question, whether in person or via email, and they always help me with anything I might need. Maintenance consistently responds on the same day when a request is submitted (shoutout to Matthew and the rest of the team for always keeping up with requests and maintaining the property's cleanliness). There are plenty of amenities to choose from if you have guests over—whether you want to play pool in the clubhouse or work out in the gym. The location is within walking distance to Stone Hill Town Center, and there's also a neighborhood dog park just a short walk away. I have nothing but good things to say about The Beacon. If you're into community events, they host a new event every month, providing an opportunity to meet new people or simply relax and have fun. The apartments are beautiful, especially with the large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The best part of this place is how quiet it is, both at night and throughout the day. Whether you're lounging by the pool or taking a stroll outside, this place is awesome!"
"**Edited** Review from 6 months ago: My husband and I have lived here for almost a year now, and so far we like it. At the beginning, the unit we wanted wasn’t ready yet, so we had to move into a temporary unit for a couple of months. We were working with Jennifer the whole time and she was very helpful; from the moment we first toured The Beacon, to after we moved into our permanent unit, she was great! We enjoy being close to all the food, stores, and parks/trails nearby. The staff are very communicative and attentive through the resident app. We love the pool, even though it took them a while to actually open. The gym is nice and clean. And maintenance is great at responding to service requests. We really have no complaints! Update (6 months later): Ever since they’ve been under new management, they had us switch to a new rent portal app and have all new staffing. This place has definitely gone downhill. Whenever I have a question regarding the rent price or an unexpected charge on my account, they never respond AT ALL which is really inconvenient. Honestly, there’s no way of communicating unless you call (which they hardly ever answer). The finishes on the units are bad; nothing but bad paint jobs and poor finishes overall. The property used to be well-maintained, and now it’s not. I had a neighbor upstairs who was constantly throwing dog poop over their balcony and onto my driveway for months, which as much as I see maintenance walking and/or driving all around the complex, NEVER noticed it. I called the office and they actually did something about it, which was surprising. Weights from the Building 1 gym have been going missing for months and still haven’t been replaced yet. Not to mention how disgusting the restroom gets in there. Our tools were stolen from our garage a few months back, but we didn’t tell them about it cause we felt like they weren’t going to do anything about it. The fact that they decide to FINALLY close the front gates after being open for 1yr+ is crazy; we’ll see how long these stay closed. Whoever decides to move in, good luck. We will definitely not be renewing here."
"If they would have told me this apartment was going to be sold during the duration of my lease I would have never moved here. We had these Valet dollar we would get at events or just at random. They were used towards house keeping, carpet cleaning etc. I accumulated over $60 in these dollars hoping to get a house cleaning when I reached the $120 charge. They sold the property and told me they couldn’t do anything about it because it wasn’t money I myself had put on the account. Enraged, I let it go. Fast forward a couple months later I started getting a random charge on my monthly bill. After inquiring about the charge they told me it was because I didn’t have renters insurance. I told them I did and showed them proof. Some guy name James had the worse most unprofessional email exchange with me as I tried to correct the issue. The issue is still not resolved. The printer was down for weeks with no notice. Its unmanaged and barely kept. The gym is the same way. The trash is always overfilled. The front gate was locked for the first time a month ago. No code for guest or deliveries was given out until weeks later. The gate has been broken twice since in operation. I have new neighbors above and below. Someone is smoking so much weed that my apartment is covered in the smell. The walls are thin! If someone is walking up the stairs I can hear them loud and clear. If someone is yelling at the pool I can hear them (I live two building away). The dumpster is alway overfilled and unsightly. No one responded to my emails when I reported most of these issues listed. I notice at least two of the front staff members leaving 5 star reviews. Don’t believe the hype. If you read the reviews from others we are all complaining about the same issues. The place has gone to shreds and I can’t wait to move."
