"1. When I was in the process of moving in, it was very difficult to get in touch with my leasing agent. They have since updated all of their contact information on their website. Also in regard to communications, mass communications were very... colloquial, to put it nicely. While I understand they wanted to reach the community on a more personal level, they at times seemed unprofessional and condescending. 2. Upon moving in, my unit was still dirty with a frayed door (wouldn't close until they fixed it with super glue), no lightbulbs in my bathroom or front porch light, a wobbly and non-flushing toilet, a sticky and rusty fridge, and loose floorboards in my living room. There was a small toy and a toenail left in my bedroom carpet with walls that seem to bleed, and there was trash inside of my washer. On top of that, there was no electricity in my living room, sockets and all, for two months. When I submitted my inventory sheet (which was filled completely with my tiny handwriting), I was told that someone in the office would submit tickets for me. I ended up having to submit them myself. It's also interesting to me that my inventory sheet is apparently not on file according to one of the agents I spoke to during my move out process. 3. Also upon moving in, I was told my apartment would be finished around 11 a.m. and that I needed to come by any time after that. There were still workers walking in and out of my unit when I was given my keys. 4. There was always an issue with water. I tallied at least 24 water outages across the complex in my one year of living there. They also rarely seemed to care about fixing the issue in a timely manner. 5. On the topic of maintenance, I've had my share of positive and negative experiences. The maintenance team, as people, are cool, but typically take a long time to respond to issues around the complex. Granted, there always seemed to be an emergency issue, but it shouldn't take 3 weeks and a couple of visits to the leasing office to have a lightbulb changed. They also closed a work order without doing anything to rectify issues. 6. The neighborhood is unsafe, generally speaking. Between a fire (which has left a building destroyed to this day), a few literal fistfights in the middle of the road, what seemed to be an attempted vehicular manslaughter, and random calls to the complex for various other things, I've never heard so many sirens near me in my life. There is no sprinkler system within the building, and apparently some units didn't even have fire extinguishers. On top of that, while I was moving out, one of my neighbors basically admitted to watching me for a while and left their phone number on the window of my car. 7. No one in the office seems to be on the same page about anything. Once again, another case of the people are cool, but the service is garbage. Not only was I given two different answers about when to submit my intent to vacate (apparently it's 30 days, according to one of the property managers, as opposed to the 60 days one of the agents told me), but I was given a few different answers regarding how to go about having my cabinets repainted. One leasing agent mentioned I could request paint so I can do the retouching on my own, while a maintenance agent told me I had to submit a ticket for it so they could repaint it because they couldn't give certain materials to the tenants. When I submitted the ticket, it was closed without rectification, so I reached out to the property manager, who said I could drop off a jar to pick up paint for my cabinets (heads up: they are very adamant about glass jars). I was ultimately denied until the next day, initially because the maintenance agent knew nothing about the arrangement between me and the property manager, and secondarily because I was not in a position to go home and collect a jar at the time. The following morning, I finally received paint. 8. No word on my security deposit. I have to end it here because of the character limit and that's just the abridged version. Don't live there."
"Google please do an update where we can give ZERO stars, because how is it that the bottom of my door is torn off??! I tried not to post pictures but the lack of responses and urgency from management has taken me there. I had an issue where my carpet was getting wet from a puddle outside and all they offered was a carpet cleaning. My fireplace is barely hanging on. I submitted an emergency request for my door and nothing was fixed. Will be reporting to the BBB until I reach the regional manager."
"Please find somewhere else to live! I am well aware The Morgan Apartments are not luxury apartments; however, it is reasonable to expect clean and operable facilities. HEADLINE: The Morgan Apartments leasing office staff and maintenance team's non-responsiveness is criminal. My concern began the day I picked up my keys and moved in. The unit I signed for was not ready for move-in, which prompted a lease amendment the day of. I had to reroute several services, including electricity, internet, and my movers, causing delays. The staff was not apologetic and did not take responsibility. Throughout the lease, I have experienced ignored maintenance requests, water shut-offs for days without communication, and rodent and insect infestations. The property is filthy. Trash cans are always overflowing, and debris is everywhere. Please save yourself any frustration and find another property to pay your hard-earned money to. I am fighting hard not to break my lease; it's terrible."
"My turnnnnnn. This is honestly the worst possible place you could EVER live at. Let’s begin. My apartment wasn’t ready on my move in day even tho I had seen the apartment TWO WEEKS PRIOR to moving in. I figured 2 weeks was long enough to get things situated for move in but I guess not. My carpet was not replaced, the apt smelled of cigarettes, the washer and dryer are both trash, the shelves in the bedroom closet are covered in this black sticky gunk (which I submitted a work order for and It was never addressed) I’m sure there’s mold on the top of my ceiling where the AC is but they tried to cover it up with paint. That’s just the first part. 2 weeks ago my AC went out and was out for SEVEN DAYS. My apartment reached temps of 86 and higher day and night and I’m also a WFH employee so it was pure hell. They finally made their way to my AC unit just to half do the job cause it only worked for 3 days and now it’s out AGAIN. They don’t supply you with a window unit and when you call them they DONT ANSWER. Like pick the phone up I know you see my name on that caller ID. I’ve never lived in such a disorganized apartment complex in my years of renting. Im leaving a review because it seems to be the only thing that gets responses back. I’m sure if we all stuck together this would be one hefty lawsuit because what in the actual holy hell is going on with this place."
"Just save your money and don't do it. They don't let you tour the apartment you're looking at (in hindsight it is a huge red flag). AC broken for 48 hrs upon move in, in 100 degree weather, giant hole in bathroom sink, leaking shower, door "fixed" with duct tape. Took a month to fix shower. Front office never answers. They shut the water off without warning ALL THE TIME. Cops constantly here, twice in last few weeks. Trash is piled outside in random areas, picture is outside my bedroom window. $50 monthly fee for washer & dryer thats included in the unit. I'm out as soon as my lease is up. DON'T RENT HERE."
