The V at SoCo

"Honest review of the V at Soco. When I first moved to this property, I was excited. I had moved from Los Angeles and if you’re from Los Angeles you know that spaces are small. I was happy to have a bigger space in what seemed to be a pleasant community. A few weeks into my stay, I noticed an abundance of cockroaches coming from the outside in. I had caught about 10 of them and put in orders for fumigation. The old maintenance guy, Steve, helped me clear them out and advised I put boric acid down which helped. About a half a year in, I noticed more gradual problems; the water would constantly be shut off and very short notice, the leasing office and gym burned down in the fall of 2022 and had not been fully repaired since I left in December of 2023. The office told me this was accidental and due to a cigarette butt. The demeanor at the V at Soco was only pleasant if you did not put in a request or ask for more reasons as to why the property was not being maintained. During the last few months of my stay, a man who constantly smoked weed and would play music on his balcony at all hours moved in. The bathroom being in the bedroom area is not sanitary and the bathroom shower would constantly drip, something maintenance told me was normal. I am also pretty sure there was mold and the bathroom has to be constantly sprayed with chemicals because there is no proper ventilation. The neighborhood is also not the safest and on my way to work I was stopped by cars and strange men around the area. Overall, my health, happiness, and sanity are better since I moved out and I am getting an extreme amount of quality for less than I paid at the V at Soco. Please do your research before moving in."

"When I first moved into our apartment I was told the apartment was "professionally" cleaned. Lie number one. My ac would leak black stuff into my tub, and our AC unit went out. They put a portable unit in our apartment for two weeks. Wouldn't fix it because of the "rain". But the day they fixed it, IT WAS RAINING! Our hot water in our shower wouldn't work. We'd take 5 min. showers and I'd have to warm up hot water on the stove for my baby to take a bath. The front office said there was nothing they could do about it since our water tanks are so small, I'd have to get used to it. I kept complaining and they stated I was going to get a new water heater, then they just "rebuilt" it. Never resolved my hot water issue. In three months they shut the water off, 9 times, to the whole property due to issues that are still not resolved and their excuse is it's an "old" building, its gonna keep happening. They do not give you time in advance about shutting off the water. So if you're in the shower when it happens, oh well. The dryers also still burn your clothes, they burned my babies new born blanket and sentiment items and there is no reimbursement through the property. DO NOT MOVE HERE ! They try and sell you on moving here but it is truly not worth your time and health !"

"We had some good moments here, our move in experience was great, Adriana was very helpful and everything went smoothly. HEB store, library and bus stop are very close and it was very convenient. But the apartment complex in general is very old, and definitely need some renovations, kitchen cabinets are old, kitchen in general is very small, we had plumbing issues with all the sinks and heater as well. There is not enough natural light in the apartment, so it was a little depressing living there. Pool is dirty, no propane tanks in the grills, and laundry room is always dirty, even after renovation some washers were broken in a week, dryers are so hot and over dry my clothes all the time I had to throw away some of them, we then decided to go to laundromat outside of the complex, it was time consuming. And also there was a fire in December, so we didn’t have access to the gym, and despite that was one of our amenities we didn’t get any discounts on rent or something Honestly I was so excited to finally move out"

"Lived here for two years, under the old management, and under the new. I would suggest NO ONE to EVER rent from this place or this company. They do not care about you or the living conditions you become stuck in due to a lease. In the two whole years I was living there: the air conditioning never once stopped leaking from the ceiling in my bathroom and we never once were able to get rid of the cockroaches in our apartment. Despite promises, and SERIOUS injuries to animals on the property, the property was never cleaned up, and the dog park was never fixed. I would never bring any animal to their dog park, as it is full of glass, scrap metal, and an uncountable number of cigarette butts. The leasing office burned down and took the gym with it, so no amenities but also they didn’t decrease our rent at all (the increased it actually). Also, the pool constantly closed and is only swimmable the day after cleaning. On any other day, it is a horrible gross shade of green that tells you how many children have Peed in it. They may randomly ask you to remove everything from your balcony so that they can paint it. But then delay it multiple times and then spring it on you… surprise! They will also do a horrible job of painting and probably get it on your stuff. I also caught two large rats on my second floor balcony. DO NOT LIVE HERE."
