"As a federal employee, I work directly with this leasing office. While the women in the office do a fair job, CALEB the property manager does not. He is extremely sassy, rude, condescending and lacks any accountability. My 7 year old has better problem solving skills. CALEB was extremely aggressive with me when things didn’t go his way on an issue he had. He throws tantrums like children would do. CALEB believes his position as property manager supersedes any federal laws. He does not know the law. CALEB came into the mailroom literally screaming as loud as he could about packages (he thought he was missing) CALEB was not sophisticated enough to check his mail regularly, he only relied on the lockers by the front office, so of course his box was pulled. Instead of him taking accountability, he made erroneous complaints. I do not live here, however after reading the other reviews, it’s obvious he has bigger problems than packages. He made accusations that weren’t true and I’m only there to help, so I can only imagine how far he’d go trying to swindle money from tenants. Do yourself a favor and go the other way. CALEB even went as far as saying he was going to start a petition to have me put on another route….the law doesn’t work like that. This shows his level of competence. Caleb make bogus charges on accounts and lacks accountability."
"BEWARE- I was a tenant for a year and had the best experience while living there. Maintenance crew is always so attentive and fast to resolve issues. Leasing agents were always so nice. HOWEVER, the move out fee is ridiculous. I am being charged over $900 to replace carpet, paint job, windows, etc. Caleb explained that lifespan is 5 years for a carpet yet charged me to replace the carpet after 2 years and 2 months... This seems to be a recurring issue based on reviews. Be ready to pay at the end of you lease."
"The amenities, staff (Davina and Beatrice in particular), and location were great. Every neighbor I met was friendly and the management frequently threw events for residents. Parking is usually convenient but, other than carport and garage spots, parking is free game to anyone which sometimes means you have to park a little farther from your building... great when you have guests though! We moved because we were in a 3/2 and everyone having their own bathroom became a priority. I would absolutely recommend ACL to a friend, I'm sad to leave!"
"I’ve been living at this property for 5 years now, and my experience has been noting but positive. Let’s start with management. Caleb is the literal best. He’s fast to respond and always gets the job done. So glad to see him move from leasing agent to assistant property manager. It’s well deserved. When it comes to the maintenance team they couldn’t possibly be any more efficient. Any work order that I’ve ever placed has been fixed in a timely fashion. I feel like as soon as I hit submit there’s a knock at my door. I work as a realtor and for the location, size of the units, and the current updates you can’t beat the price. The property itself has been maintained well from the dog park, to the pool area, and other common spaces. If I weren’t moving on to homeownership I’d 100 percent continue to rent here."
"Austin City Lights is an amazing place: 24hr fitness, pool, dog park, hangout areas with billiards, even valet trash. It’s safe, gated, and in an up and coming community in South Austin. And the apartments themselves are spacious and inviting. But here’s the thing, there were other places that had just as good, and sometimes better amenities. What really sold ACL for me was Beatriz and their team. In two days I saw five apartment complexes. Some were North Austin, one right in downtown, and others that neighbored ACL. None of them had anyone as inviting or helpful as Beatriz. They treated me like a person and not just a task. They answered all of my questions and even knew some I forgot to ask. They had a good rapport with the apartment locator agent I was using and I can only assume they did with all their local agents. And when I told them how I was trying to reset my life and had some credit issues, they told me how they could work around that to give me the apartment I wanted. And if you want to know how much they actually care about people, they actually had a Christmas Party going on in a hour, and instead of making me wait until the next day, they got me in early and let me spend as much time as I wanted looking at the place and asking questions. I couldn’t ask for a better team to continue to work with while I live there."
