"I would give this property 0 stars but that’s not possible. I was also affected by the recent flood and got moved into a smaller unit and then to find out they were letting people out of there leases with more time left on the lease than us is just frustrating. We’ve been here a year and it’s our first time renting an apartment and I can say I will never renew a lease here or refer anyone to this terrible experience from the owners before and the ones now. There is just always something going on and it’s pulling teeth and nails to get any resolution which you have better luck figuring it out yourselves. I will probably never rent an apartment every again due to PTSD from this and the toll it has taken on my emotional support animals. The fire alarms were going off in another building for over a week. The fire extinguishers are even 10 years old. This place is just not a stable environment and for the prices you pay you are not getting what you pay for, do not waste your good earned money here. They are also trying to charge us for 2 units when we had to move units do to the flood and now my credit is in jeopardy because of this. Nobody is on the same page, one person calls says one thing and now I’m at a loss, our car also got broken into. The gates never work so homeless are always coming in and out. Overall a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE."
"DO NOT RENT HERE I am one of the residents that got affected by the water leak from the sprinklers I HAD TO ASK be moved into a new unit because of this, and thankfully they let us. What they did not do was call to notify us that this had happened. I was out of town, and my roommate was at work and I came home to a bunch of men in my apartment at 5 o’clock at night. When I had spoke to who I think was the manager, they literally said “we assumed you were home”, I have two pets that thank god were not home because I was out of town. But to ASSUME a resident is home and then not even notify us that a leak happened and people were coming to rip up carpets and we couldn’t stay there? Inexcusable. It’s take one second to call a resident. We now have been in the unit almost two weeks and were given then wrong mail keys, I notified them of this last week, and still no keys. We were told by maintence that they have to wait until the mail person comes and opens up all of the boxes, so now we have to depend on someone to wait around and watch for the mail person all day in order to do this? When no one from the front desk ever notified maintenance that this needed to be done? How many weeks and phone calls will it take? I’ve sent multiple emails to the manager that have been in answered This complex has no respect for their residents time or questions, has absolutely no communication Save your self the stress"
"I had a bad experience dealing with the previous owners and unfortunately nothing has changed for the better. I've been here for 12 months and the gate has worked for a total of 4 months at most. There is a small homeless camp next to the complex and unfortunately there has been numerous times where unhinged people just walked in, destroy things, and would start screaming (at the lovely hour of 3am). On top of that, the pool has been shut down since August. And that includes the entire outside area (bbq, lounge chairs, etc.). Unfortunately, I haven't seen them work on it at all. Which is really disappointing because the amenities were definitely a factor in me signing here and moving further away from downtown. It was also one of the hottest Austin summers in history and I really would have loved to use the pool during the months to come when it was still 90-100+º. When I signed with Cortland, they gave us access to the neighboring Cortland property and their amenities. I ended up getting trapped in there a couple weeks ago, because when I tried to unlock the gate to get out, I found that they removed the property completely from the app. Just really frustrating in terms of lack of communication, because there was no notice. So much of what we got after originally signing, has been taken away. There is absolutely nothing special about living here. This morning, there was a leak in the building so they turned the water off. For the first few hours, there was no notice or anything and I did not know why I didn't have water. When calling the office, no one would answer. I unfortunately cannot trust their communication. Yet they'll sign your email up for tons of third-party cash grabbing services. I've also dealt with an apartment-wide ant infestation this entire time, though there is a pest fee every month. They apparently do not have exterminators to send in. Roommate and I have killed thousands of ants, all by ourselves. I would never suggest anyone to sign here. It is not worth it. I've been eagerly waiting for this lease to end. "This is a nice place despite the negative reviews. The leasing office is really nice and there’s good coffee. The apartments are updated and modern looking. I love the vaulted ceiling and large balconies. The new office staff is pleasant to deal with and the maintenance team responds quickly and address concerns and repairs. Much better than the previous company, Cortland. Check it out for yourself and you’ll see it’s a great place to live."
"Hear me out. When I first moved in there was a lot of hiccups when it came to maintenance and basic security. When I first signed on I had signed on with the former management company. I was welcomed with a filthy apartment that was repainted but never truly fixed nor maintained. I had black mold in my vents, sinks, toilets and even my AC unit. My front door was lacking security measures required by the state and even after a month of hounding the former company, I finally have a demand letter sent to their corporate office, my door was then fixed. Then came the AC unit. After months of the unit being unable to cool down my apartment, I noticed mushrooms growing from the carpet right outside of my unit. Shocker there was more black mold. Not to even mention the same company lost the maintenance key to my apartment. Needless to say the last company was a mess and negligent. The current team is struggling to keep up with the mess left behind and I can recognize that. It has been a messy transition, however I can say that this team has been making an effort to fix what was left broken. Maintenance is beyond sweet and very responsive. I can't remember the last time I had someone responded as quickly to a request as they did, even going out of their way to fix the little things that were mentioned in passing. The front desk called me back as soon as they saw there was a miss call and were more than happy to help. The time I spent waiting to meet with someone, I could see the everyone working hard to respond to tenants and the complaints that they have had. There was another person who I met who was beyond kind and understanding and wanted honest feedback about how things have been. I know things have been hard and may not be perfect but I can confidently say that this new crew is trying to make things a little more enjoyable and livable for us, despite the hiccups."
