"Just the absolute worst. Working with these people as a tenant was a nightmare. They tried to get us to agree to a bunch of ridiculous move-out terms that were *nowhere in our lease* (RentWerx took over management of the property halfway through our lease term), tried to charge us late fees when a payment problem was *their fault*, and were overall abysmal at communication. To top it all off, the password-locked link they provided to see the itemized breakdown of security deposit deductions? Yeah, it didn't even WORK. So we have no idea what they took $170 out of our deposit for, and they wouldn't respond to us when we asked. If I'm ever trying to rent an apartment in Austin again and I see that RentWerx is managing the property, I will simply go elsewhere. Oh yeah, and the last month of our lease when they were flipping back and forth on whether or not we'd have to do showings, no one from RentWerx ever came to see the place. The fact that they messaged us asking whether there were any gas fixtures in the apartment (ex: stove) over a month and a half afterwards makes me think they never did. Idk if that's common practice, but it seems a little shady to try to rent a place out sight-unseen."
"Rentwerx took over management of my property in Austin from Austin Property Team, who sold their business to Rentwerx. The transition itself was seamless, and they have been incredibly responsive to both the tenants's requests and my own. Lindsey was my primary point of contact, and she has been a true pleasure to work with."
"I never expect leasing companies to be *good,* but this is by far the worst leasing company I've ever encountered. They add hundreds of dollars worth of "non-negotiable" fees to every lease, meaning your rent will be at least $100-150 more than the listed price. They are also very poor communicators. I live in a duplex with a large shared deck, and when the other tenant moved out, they took an entire set of my patio furniture (a couch, two chairs, and a coffee table) and disposed of it without checking that it was mine. They claim they took it because it was on the "B side" of the patio, but never gave me notice to move the furniture we were sharing or told me that there were "A" and "B" sides to a patio that is clearly shared. This is also not mentioned in the lease. The property I live in is beautiful but I am consistently frustrated by their complete lack of consideration for and communication with their tenants."
