"Don't walk - RUN away from this place! My wife and I were beyond relieved when it was time for our son to move out of this place. His AC worked maybe 50% of the time, through the summer no less. The "secure" gates to enter the complex were always open. Anyone can gain access to the grounds at any time. We came down for a visit, hot weather and the pool was closed...again. He also had to make arrangements to shower at a different location for water being shut off - with very little notification. READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE LEASE!!! He and his roommate were hit with a ridiculous fee (in the thousands of dollars) because, get this, they paid the remainder of the rent for their lease for time they would not be there. Since they vacated the apartment prior to the date lease matured, they were hit with this fine....even though they had paid ahead! Onion Creek is a disaster. Do yourself a favor, grab a tent at Wal-Mart and join the homeless community under one of the overpasses....you'll be more comfortable and safe."
"Don’t do it. Dish washer didn’t wash. Dryer didn’t dry. Garbage disposal didn’t dispose garbage. Air conditioner rarely worked during the summer. Pool was closed during some summer months. Dog poop everywhere. From gun shots to car robberies to homeless people roaming around outside the wide open gates, not a day went by that I didn’t fear for my well being Again, don’t do it. Not worth half the price."
"AVOID!!! We felt lucky to get out of here unscathed. There was an alleged shooting in the complex. Cars and garages were getting broken in to and stolen from. The gates remained open for long period of time throughout the day. We had our water shut off at 3pm in the middle of the week with little to no notice. I put 6 work orders in from the month of May to October and it was never fixed. We had no AC through the summer and our apartment sat at 86-88 degrees. Pool was constantly closed. I wouldn’t live here for free, don’t rent here"
"Edit: I just want to add that I got my security deposit back (most of it since I had to move in a rush and didn't do a thorough cleaning). It took about four months but that is standard for apartment management companies these days. In my experience living in apartments, the longer you stay (and not create problems) the more forgiving complexes are on move out charges. ****************************************************************** I spent three satisfactory years at Onion Creek Luxury Apartments. Unfortunately I was driven away by the complex's problem of excessive barking dogs. I never never had an issue with front office, maintenance requests was handle promptly and courteously. I never had a problem with neighbors or crime. The only problem with loud music in the the three years was dealt with when a group of migrants staying in the complex decided that 5:00pm every day was Tejano music time out in the common areas. The complex maintenance crew was exemplary during the 2021 Winter Storm, considering the circumstances. My rent didn't go up over the three years. And the complex was relatively quiet and family friendly. But suddenly in early 2023 tenants moved in with a large excessive barking dog. How this monster of a dog was allow to stay is beyond my comprehension. It barked during the day, and it barked during the night. It tore up the blinds in the apartment unit and make the complex look trashy and ghetto. It set off other dogs and what was once mostly peace and quiet became like living in a dog shelter with all the barking. It cost me thousands of dollars to suddenly have to move from a complex I was perfectly happy living in. But I had no other choice, but the sleep deprivation was affecting my job."
