Reviews of Vineyard Hills Apartments
"If I could give this place zero stars I would. Terrible place to live. Apartment buildings should be condemned. The management team is absolutely terrible. I got a very bad feeling when I came and did a tour. I feel sorry for the residents that have to live in these slums. Look elsewhere for a place to reside."
"The newest apartment managers (we have seen 4 teams of apartment managers come and go) actually salted the ground and the stairs and the upper outside walkways before dawn the morning of a big freeze. They have also been replacing the moldy patio Collums that were holding up the structure of the building. The newest managers are more proactive and give far greater notice before drills or shut offs. All 3 of the older apt managers would give 24 hr notice or less of the entire complex will have no water tomorrow ect. The newest Management communicates more clearly and effectively, usually letting us know at least a week before. They started spraying the outside of the building for roaches along the perimeter on a semi-regular basis and the roach problem has gotten much better. And there is no more all-year Friday morning 9AM every-week, on-the-dot leaf-blowers. Instead, any loud construction (patio rebuilding for example) seems to be done between 12pm-4pm (I'm not sure exactly but we are late sleepers and we havnt been bothered by it since new management). This building was built in the 90s and has no water softener of any kind and calcium deposits fill the walls for bad PVC pipes from the 90s. Replacing bad construction built 30 years ago is going to take some time but the newest apartment managers actually seem to care, are making an effort and are much more considerate. Maintenance seem to be more on schedule then previous management not taking action until an emergency because old managers were reactive and not proactive."
"I lived here during 2019-2020 and loved the apartment. I had to move away due the pandemic and losing my job, but once I was back on my feet, I wanted to move back. I thought the second time around at Vineyard Hills would be as wonderful as the first, but oh, how wrong I was. It seems they have changed management, or SOMETHING because the attitude in that office is rancid. My brother and I rented for a full year and were treated horribly. Every time we had a maintenance concern, which way more often than reasonable, we were ignored for days and made to “prove” the severity of our issue before it would be fixed. There is a serious breakdown in communication between tenants and management, with management often being confrontational and hostile. My brother and I were without heat/AC and running water so many times it’s like we were participants on survivor. For what you pay for these apartments, I’d expect the basics to be met, but that was never the case. I could go on and on with stories about the management and lack of proper maintenance, but I’ll stop here. Take it from me, let the negative reviews turn you elsewhere. Not worth the hassle!"
"My son and his girlfriend were under the impression that they were signing a 6 month lease. The office wouldn't put a copy of it on the portal or give them a copy. Come to find out when it was time to give the office their vacate notice, they found out that the office made it a year lease. These kids new they were moving to a different state for college in 6 months and now they have a bill from Vineyard hills for $8000!! These people are crooked!! I would not recomend moving here!! What a horrible experience for two young kids. Good luck getting a hold of the manager to discuss these matters as well. She's too busy avoiding angry tenants and falsifying leases."
"I lived here for 3 years from 2019-2022. At the beginning, I was quite content with the apartment and with the management. However, as time went on I felt like the quality of everything drastically went downhill. The apartment complex is pretty old and wasn't improved during my time there. It was also really hard to get maintenance to actually fix something. I sometimes had to submit two or three maintenance requests before someone even came to take a look. I worked during the hours the office was open and was rarely successful in getting in contact with anyone via email or phone. I was often sent to voicemail and my emails went ignored. Even now having moved out two months ago, I am unable to receive an answer about how to pay my final utility bill and why I haven't received my deposit back yet. Traffic is also unbearable and has gotten significantly worse since I moved in. Sometimes I would spend 3+ minutes waiting to enter/leave the driveway and it's almost impossible to turn left out of the complex at any time of day. I am glad that I moved out as I received notice that my rent would have substantially increased by 44% - the apartment was definitely not worth that. I know Austin has become really expensive and there aren't a lot of more affordable options, but I wouldn't recommend living here."
