"We've been at The Brodie for a few years and the highlight of our time here has been the new maintenance department - specifically Robert. Not only is he quick to respond to maintenance requests, Robert is kind, thorough, and never fails to go above and beyond. Any time we have an issue, instead of just putting a 'bandaid' over it Robert and his team will go the extra mile by replacing and/or upgrading appliances when they break or run into issues. Furthermore, you can tell how much Robert cares about The Brodie and it's residents - when he isn't servicing maintenance requests, he is picking up trash and cleaning up the area around the dumpster; and every time we've encountered him he always inquires as to how we are doing. Additionally, he is organized, never fails to communicate properly with us, and always follows up within a timely manner. Ultimately, Robert and the maintenance team are one of the main reasons we continue to call The Brodie our home."
"My significant other and I toured The Brodie apartment complex and overall had a fair experience. I will say the manager was wholesome and offered us a number of deals to secure our residency. He was welcoming and very enthusiastic throughout the tour and passionate about The Brodie community. However, it is clear that The Brodie has become dated and requires significant renovation. They noted SOME of their apartments are newly renovated but others are not still displaying an early 2000s-esque atmosphere and decor. Of the three different styled apartments we toured, ALL had small pest dwelling in either one or two kitchen cabinets even with each apartment being above the first floor. ALL the apartments, newly renovated and non, also displayed water damage from the floor above that was prominent in the corner of the bedrooms. The community, however, seemed very genuine and friendly as we had positive interactions with current Brodie residents. If The Brodie is fully remodeled someday I have no doubt it will continue to serve as a prominent apartment complex in Austin."
"I had the worst experience with The Brodie from the start. They never answer their phone and they told me they were short staffed. As a previous business manager myself, this is no excuse but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I wanted my keys to my apartment in the morning but was told they inspect the apartments in the morning therefore would give me the keys in the afternoon. The master bathroom was so awful with stains in the tub and on the tiles as shown in the picture. The light bulbs in the bathroom and patio were out. The garbage disposal and washer were not working. Wasp nests all around the patio ceiling. Patio door was broken. The front door lock was jamming and jammed all 8 months of my lease, as shown in the picture. I immediately went back to the front office and Ben told me this is why they give you the inspection sheet to write down what's wrong so they can fix it which is not what that sheet is for. Well, this was inhabitable environment because they had to shut off the water supply in order to fix the bathroom. I was also told it was okay if the door always jammed because “it seems to be locking”. This was JUST the beginning. Parking is bad. My roommates car got broken into and Ben didn’t reach out until 3 months later. The gates are always open and broken. Don’t bother having people over because their car will get towed and no one will answer the phone at the towing place or front desk. The list goes on but this is just the surface."
"Oh its a decent place, however if you visit your family don't expect to see your car when returning. They state they have several signs stating where is private parking and what is visitor. Yet they fail to mention if its a blank space no markings or signs or anything. They expect you to read the sign somewhere at the front where visitors can park. This is extortion and I would hate to live in a terrible place that hires one of the lowest rating towing companies in that area ( 1.4 ) stars. Reliant towing also has also had many claims of the same thing happening, as well as a civil suit for one of there employees stealing out of the car. TDLR; don't rent here unless you enjoy getting your car or guests vehicles impounded for the low price of $260. Any company that cheaps out on towing services definitely cheaps out elsewhere. Where did peoples morals go, would not recommend to my worst enemy."
"I was debating giving 5 stars because I normally do not. But now that The Brodie has new maintenance and management, the property has been improving. I am very glad with everything that has gone into making the property better. Robert has done every work order for me and has done great. Ben is a great manager and easy to get along with. Andrew and Michael are always nice. Everyone seems to be doing really great and happy to help me."
