"I have lived in my Santal apartment for five years and really enjoy it for many reasons. I particularly cherish the view I have from my balcony/deck and both interior rooms of the beautiful nature reserve to the southwest. When I moved in, I selected an apartment with a view because I work mostly from home and wanted to enjoy this peaceful and unblemished place every day. In fact, I opted to pay extra rent to obtain an apartment in this specific spot. Unfortunately, recent management actions have negatively impacted my experience at Santal. The management installed a dog waste receptacle about 15-20 feet from the back of my apartment. Not only is this an eyesore that ruins my otherwise pristine and beloved view, but it is going to be extremely offensive when the weather warms up and the contents of the poop bags start to stink. I already smell it when I step out on my deck--- and it is still just February and 70 degrees out. Imagine what the stench will be like when it is above 90 degrees in a couple of months! Every other trash bin or dog waste station installed at this Santal property is at least 75-100 feet from a residential building. In addition, the complex has a beautiful dog park which was recently renovated and is located nearby, on the other side of building 12. Why was it necessary to install a receptacle in this particular spot, where it will be a nuisance to several residents and is not needed? And why were the complaints of these residents, whose lives are impacted by this situation, repeatedly ignored by the management? I used to be proud to call Santal my home and appreciated the amenities and care taken by the management and staff. Now though, when I try to enjoy my morning coffee on the deck, I am welcomed by the stench of dog waste and the site of trash and dog waste bags. My neighbors must endure the same disagreeable experience. The current manager, apparently has little regard or respect for the tenants, especially for those of us who have lived here for many years and have willingly cooperated with prior management’s rules and regulations. Several of my neighbors are equally upset and concerned about the placement of this particular dog waste container close to our residences, terraces, porches, windows, and in our cherished view. We have contacted management repeatedly requesting the removal or relocation of this receptacle. But management has dismissed our concerns. They stopped responding to emails and have proclaimed that the receptacle will stay where it is. In dismissing our complaints, management, in effect, disrespecting us and the reasonable requests made by long-term tenants. Their actions have damaged the environment we have loved, considered our home, and have paid for with enhanced rents in order to enjoy the unspoiled vista behind us. I am intensely dissatisfied with the current property manager and their disrespectful and unprofessional behavior is uncalled for. Since the dog waste arrival, the relationship between tenants and management has deteriorated and the overall (formerly very positive) experience of living at Santal is diminished."

"We’ve been here over a year now. Love the complex and appartement, maintenance is great but management has been very disappointing. I won’t get into all the details but they’ve often been unreliable or refusing to help with issue like when someone wrecked my car parked in the complex. Our goal moving here was to have a great relationship with management but they made it almost impossible. Also we love to see our rent increase after 14 months here while prices on the website are going down. We now pay about $250 more a month than what our apartment is listed at on the website which is great."
"My husband and I moved here in April 2023, and we’ve absolutely loved every part of living at this community! The maintenance is quick and helpful, the office staff is kind and on top of things. They are easy to communicate with, the community is in the perfect location feeling both secluded yet is close to everything! It’s a super friendly pet community with a nice dog park, walking trails and also has nice amenities! Pool and community areas are always clean and kept. We hope to be here for as long as possible! Couldn’t recommend these apartments more, and If you get the right unit, the views of the hill country are unbeatable!"
