"Incredible people, amazing atmosphere, & fun spot to hang out!! I performed here with BongoJak vs The Loop Machine & it was a wonderful experience!!"
"Not the cleanest joint but damn friendly people and real tasty food. Quality for sure.."
"I came here a few years ago for breakfast before Old Settlers Days. They had the breakfast buffet set out and it was amazing. I'm a huge fan of breakfast and they had lots of options. I got sausage links and american fries. They were delicious. That same day I came back for dinner and had the catfish. It was pretty good."
"The waitress was rude and made comments about needing a vacation. This continued as she talked loud over the restaurant about her unhappiness and blah mood to a man at the bar area. When ordering my son wanted an item listed on the menu but he was told in a snappy remark"we don't have them!" As he went to explain he was sorry he had seen them on the menu, she continued to be rude. He is a child! We didn't get items we ordered and had to ask over for them. Just overall awful experiences. Yes this kind of service happened just a couple months back also. No need to complain or express to management/owner as the waitress was the owner and the man at the bar also. Very disappointing as this establishment was once a great place with an awesome atmosphere."
"Very very good. Unassuming little place located near the Kampsville Illinois Ferry. We happened to notice the place right after using the ferry. The restaurant is located in a rather unadorned building. There was just the one person working when we went in. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin sandwich with two sides. I had onion rings and potato salad. The tenderloin came with a full onion slice, two slices of tomato (that appeared to have been on the vine recently), and a generous piece of lettuce. The tenderloin was well in excess the size of the bun, breaded, and had great flavor. The onion rings were good, but admittedly from a distributor. The potato salad on the other hand was fresh made, and probably the best I have ever had. My son had shrimp rings, and fresh made fries, he observed our cook/waitress go by with two large potatoes. Our dinners were eight dollars a piece, and we were both stuffed. We did order their fried pies to go, it's possible that they don't travel well. On the whole I would definitely recommend, and I might just make the nearly hundred mile trip to try this place out again!"
