None of my information was taken to maybe schedule a day to tour when the weather was nicer, or to keep me updated on available units. If this is how prospective tenants are treated, I could only imagine how actual tenants are treated"

"**Update I received a prompt to leave a review by the complex recently, and since I had already left one previously, I decided to update it. Everything I said previously about the location and the friendliness of the workers has remained the same. However, about a year ago the complex changed management (and I think ownership) and things went downhill in a number of areas. First and foremost, I loved this place because of its safety. Over the past 6 months, I have seen multiple cars with their wheels missing. This is unnerving to say the least, and I attached pictures to show that it isn't an exaggeration. The gate to our community is usually not functioning so cars can drive in and out at will. There used to be a security guard patrolling at night, but there no longer appears to be one. The complex is no longer a really quiet place. I am not sure if it is because some of the units are on AirBNB, but over the summer there would be loud parties at the pool past 10PM (which is past the posted closing time). As a student, I have to wake up really early in the morning so I had quite a few sleepless nights. The gym isn't as nice as when I moved in. There used to be TVs in the complex so that you could watch something while you worked out. Now, there is only one TV and the remotes don't work for it. As mentioned by other posters, the 25lb barbells are missing now, as is the pin for selecting weights on the pec/fly machine. The treadmills are occasionally out of service. One of the other positive aspects of the community was the cleanliness. Under the old management, the complex was always in pristine condition. Under the new management company, the trash cans would often be overflowing. The parking lots now have litter or pet excrement more frequently. There are some major drainage issues in the complex near the rear buildings. Finally, when I went to renew my lease last time, there were a lot of issues. First, I never received a lease renewal notice. I went to the office to request one, and they said I should receive it by mail. I check my email daily and the resident portal as well. I never received any notice and finally went to the office to request the renewal. The change in rent was almost a 30 percent increase from my previous monthly rate. I was able to negotiate with the office to a more reasonable number. However, I do feel like one of the best attributes of this place was the value it offered. Considering the change in the amenities, I don't know if this place can still be considered a good value. I decided to leave three stars because we are under new management once again and I can already see positive changes. I am cautiously optimistic things will get back to the way they were. I hope I'll be able to provide a positive update to this review. I really used to love living here under the original management. If things go back to being even close to how they were before, I'm sure I will love it here again."

"Stella at the Medical Center is top-notch, and Kathy, the Community Manager, is the heartbeat of the place. Her warm demeanor and efficiency make living here a breeze. The maintenance team, led by Iva and Sarah, deserves applause. They swiftly tackled minor issues in my apartment, showcasing professionalism and skill. Having such a dedicated team ensures a comfortable living environment is reassuring. Thanks to these stellar individuals, Stella truly stands out in its commitment to resident satisfaction."

"I have lived here for a little over two months now… we all pay a $25 amenity fee — for a feces filled dog park and a complex gym that rarely has a working treadmill and is missing a set of dumbbells. As you can see, I provided a picture of a car on cinder blocks, this was 9/27/23 and this is the 3rd time I have witnessed this as a resident at Stella (again, I’ve lived here a little over 2 months). Safety is a concern here and I am awaiting a return email regarding what steps will be taken to ensure our safety as residents. This happened right next to the exit off of Almeda. Another issue that I have brought to their attention is the insurance charge on my account every month when I have provided my own insurance statement SEVERAL times. When I moved in, the cabinets were VERY much destroyed (picture provided) and there has been no contact as to if or when they’ll be replaced — it’s so ugly and not like the photos they have on their website or social media:( This place has a lot of work to do— I’m unsure why the ratings are as high as they are."

"Initially, I had my doubts about moving into this apartment due to some negative reviews on Google. However, after taking my mom along for a tour, we both preferred it over some of the other places we had visited before. Consequently, we signed the lease and moved in last August, and we have been extremely content with our decision ever since. I would say if there are any concerns, it's important to let the staff know and give them the chance to help. Fortunately, I've only had positive experiences so far. The staffs and maintenance crew are very friendly and helpful, especially Iva who went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly for us throughout the whole process. From the moment we moved in, we felt safe and secure in our new home. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, which is exactly what we were looking for. The location is unbeatable, you can literally see downtown from the apartment location, 5 minutes away from Herman Park. The units itself are very spacious with outside balcony. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone!"
