"I lived there since 2017 (with the exception of one year). Ever since it became a Cortland facility, it’s gone downhill. When my neighbor moved in, a roach infestation took over building one. They finally moved out but the new tenants say the roaches are still there. I found mold in my apartment. It took almost a month of fighting for them to properly remediate. I didn’t receive any financial compensation. Then two months later, a pipe burst in my apartment while I was out of town. Everything that was touching the floor was destroyed. When I told them that they needed to pay for the damages, they responded by terminating my lease. Good luck to the next person that lives in unit 1104. In their below rebuttal, Cortland denies knowing about the roach infestation, however, they bombed all of building 1 in 2022 after my MULTIPLE requests. And the couple who lived next to me shortly before I moved out have told me their move in date was delayed for additional treatment by Cortland but then they had to pay out of pocket for additional treatments after they moved in. They also state that they provided me with multiple transfer options, however the district manager was not able to provide a complete list of options (we were trying to negotiate pricing) before their lawyer sent me a lease termination letter and told me I had a week to move out. I also find it quite comical how they say I denied them access to my unit for four days after they were notified about the mold when I had notified them on a Tuesday about the situation and they scheduled their contractor to come out on Friday (I was told this was the first date available). Their contractor wanted to simply cut out the sheetrock and immediately replace it. I had to fight for over a week to get the property manager to come view the damages and properly remediate. I will say, the assistant property manager, Alex, and Carlos with maintenance were always extremely helpful! They truly did everything they possibly could to try to rectify all of the issues. It’s a shame that the Cortland corporation wouldn’t back them up or follow through."
"Don’t believe all these 5 star reviews, notice how a lot of them are from “tours” only. Get actual reviews from residents who live here and their experiences with the front office. You call day after day, leave voicemails and no one cares to get back with you. And this happens ALL the time. I’m glad “potential residents” have better experiences than those who actually pay rent here. Front office is horrible about answering phones. If you’re busy I understand, but at least follow up with requests. They’re too worried about asking for reviews. I should know, I was asked to post a good review at one point too, so instead I will post a truthful one."
"We didn’t end up leasing here only because the timing didn’t work out properly, but just had to come leave a review. Stormie the leasing agent was so wonderful and sweet and was super friendly to work with! We will consider looking here again in the future specifically because of Stormie!"
"I had the pleasure of touring this property a few weekends ago and was so impressed by not only the upkeep of the community but also the staff. Stormie was my tour guide and was knowledgeable and very sweet. This is my first apartment in a really long time and I asked a lot of questions and she never got annoyed which so many other places have, unfortunately. Alex, I believe he said he was the assistant manager, was so nice as well when I arrived for my tour and showed me how to use the coffee machine (which was amazing btw). All of this sounds trivial but honestly, it was the best I’ve been treated throughout my search within the last few months. I’m not ready to sign quite yet but Cortland is definitely where I would feel most comfortable about leasing. I definitely recommend this property and for you to ask for either Stormie or Alex. Love this place!"
"I recently had the pleasure of working with & toured with Jessica! experience was exceptional, She was very kind and helpful! Jessica was very responsive, professional, and attentive to my wants and needs. Grounds are nice with plenty of amenities. Great location. I highly recommend her to anyone in search of a new home– not only does her dedication and expertise truly stand out but the property itself does as well from the other properties I’ve toured in the area! Thank you again, will be referred to friends and family!"
