"LaVenture is one of our favorite places. The food, atmosphere and service are wonderful. We highly recommend the lasagna, Bahn mi sliders, seared tuna, shrimp appetizer, New York Strip, and pretty much everything else on the menu. Enjoy!"

"Yummy cocktails, really good pizza and wings. Cozy ambiance. Service was a little slow, but our waitress was nice. This is the most reliable restaurant for dinner in Marfa, so it’s worth waiting a bit longer for your drinks/food to come out."

"Food is good but unremarkable, for the price. Atmosphere is very nice at dinner, low lights and comfy seat, but the soothing appearance is outweighed by the loud music. It's impossible to relax when your table mates have to yell to be heard. The house margarita was the best I've had in a while. I'd definitely go back for that, but I'd prefer to take it elsewhere in the hotel, if they'd allow. The loud music, unfortunately, made my experience equal parts lovely and frustrating."

"I have dined at the LaVenture restaurant the last couple of years but have visited more often the last few months. The ambiance is one that invites an air of creativity mixed with mystical etherealness. It’s been an artistic haven for me to escape from the ruggedness of West Texas especially when in need of an inspiring environment for my writing. My favorite thing to do has been to go to the back bar and order some appetizers and cocktails while I write and chat with Sarah, the talented bartender. I appreciate the detail she puts into making the drinks, while also offering alternative and creative libations for those of us who have a hard time making a decision. She knows the menu well and offers honest suggestions of food pairings with the drinks. I’ve also been waited on by Ryan and he’s great, and Moony is a wonderful host. The cooks are phenomenal at what they do. My go-tos are the truffle fries with garlic aioli and the brick oven pepperoni pizza. The salads are fresh and colorful - I get the Greek salad. Their soups are seasonal and so far I’ve tried 2 of the soups, carrot with cream and tomato, and both were very delicious and flavorful. My low rating is not of the restaurant but of an experience I had this past weekend with one of their waiters. I had a friend visiting from California and for months I had raved to her about LaVenture. Our server was Doug and when he came to ask us for our drinks, he was immediately rude and sharp to us. We were taken aback and attempted to brush it off thinking he may have had a bad day, which if he did it still does not justify the despicable and disrespectful customer service that followed. He rudely told us that the kitchen closed in 30 minutes, so my friend and I quickly looked at the menu to pick something to be respectful of the time (I live 1.5 hrs away and we did our best to get there way before closing). However, when we turned to give our order, Doug cut us off by turning and walking away, which was odd since we assumed that he’d want to put the order in as quickly as possible due to the kitchen closing. The rest of the night became a series of uncomfortable, impolite, and unprofessional interactions by Doug. My friend and I spoke to him kindly and respectfully, even though that was not returned. My friend shared later that she felt so uncomfortable that she couldn’t finish her meal, and I too shared the same sentiment. Being the optimistic person that she is, she made the best of a horrible situation but to say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. Never have either of us been treated the way Doug treated us and the experience was so disheartening. While I understand that one person does not represent the whole of a company and its employees, it definitely plays a substantial part. I have worked in the customer service industry before and empathize with the challenges one faces both with customers and their industry, which is why I initially empathized with Doug. I hope that management will address Doug and his unprofessionalism."

"The atmosphere only scored low due to the loud atmosphere, there was a art gallery event going on in town and it was hard to carry a conversation. It is a bit on the pricier side for most places. Our server Daniel was decent. He seemed to have a lot of tables but didn't seem flustered or overwhelmed but it definitely did seem to take from the experience. The steak frites was tender and the perfect temperature. The spare ribs were fall of bone, the Caesar salad was properly dressed without being heavy and the romaine crisp. The steak nachos were great starter. The salmon linguini was delicious. Crispy garlic bread and we also had the pepperoni, brick oven pizza. Pizza is about a 12" or medium size from your major pizza chains so it can easily feed 2-3. My husband tried the pinto canyon mule and lost gringo. Both drinks were good, I dipped a bit of each and I prefer the lost gringo because the prickly pear flavor stood out and shined."
