"Stopped for breakfast here on a recommendation from a coworker. I am so glad I ate there. It's a really nice looking place on the inside. My waitress was very cordial, and offered excellent service. I ordered the Polish sausage skillet, and added jalapeños and gravy (per waitress offering), and wheat toast. They don't skimp on anything. The bread for their wheat toast came from a quality loaf of bread (like Brownberry?). I don't think I've ever seen so much food in a skillet. And it tasted fantastic, as you could tell everything was nicely seasoned. As a fat guy, I was surprised that I had half the skillet left when I was full. I don't typically have leftovers, and what was leftover is more than a skillet at most other places. I will definitely be back."

"We stopped in with friends when spending the night in Galena and fell in love with the place. They weren't particularly busy for a Saturday morning and we were sat quite quickly. The water was both friendly and quick to answer any questions we had about the menu. I ordered a skillet and my wife an omelet and they both were delicious. Well proportioned breakfasts with numerous sides to choose from. Our friends had similar dishes in addition to biscuits and gravy on the side. The establishment was well lit, beautifully decorated, and manned with numerous friendly employees. We loved our time here and would greatly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and delicious meal."

"I loved the food, menu options, and the fresh atmosphere at Charlie's Place. I heard so many positive things from neighbors about Charlie's Place and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I tried the Vegetarian Skillet and my husband had the Gyro Skillet and we both loved our meals. Our meals were served hot and they were very flavorful. The coffee was excellent and the wait staff made sure my coffee was frequently topped off. Wait staff was friendly and provided excellent and quick service."

"Great big portions of food. Service was excellent. They have a very friendly staff. The ambiance is perfect. Coffee was good and breakfast was delicious, my eggs were done just the way I like it. Very clean and fast service. There is always someone from their staff coming around filling up your coffee along with asking us if we need anything else. Clean bathroom. A lot to choose from their menu. My bacon was cooked to perfection nice and crispy. Tables were clean. Kudos!!! I found my new place to eat breakfast when I am in Galena Illinois. Thank you."
