"I appreciate that the place is not falling apart…There are no lines running down the walls. Not too much to ask for. Martino Group’s recent construction cut corners (cough Liberty Lofts) and used cheap materials. One thing I hate though here are the accent walls in every single unit. Can we do away with the ugly accent walls??? Make it one uniform off-white color like the rest of the apartment! Seriously the wall is ugly enough to put a work order in but I won’t be petty!"

"While the complex is a nice place to live with luxury appliances and homely interior design, I am giving 4 stars. This is my third leasing term with Urban Square, and I’ve always been happy to live here. The only reason I am not rating with 5 stars is because I believe staff and management has been up and down in trying to get employment, as well as our maintenance team. If it wasn’t for Emylee, I would probably rate 3 stars. Emylee has been so attentive and empathetic towards our situation with pest control. She makes sure to call us back, inquire about how our apartment is doing since pest control, and just generally been an absolute rock star. Overall, it’s a great place to live, and the pest control issue is the first time in 3 years, so I am sure in due time with management and maintenance employment, this will pass. Hope this review helps. :)"

"For starters, I’m not the kind of person to complain. I understand we don’t live in a perfect world. Living in an apartment, you anticipate your typical problems such as parking, maintenance issues, noise complaints, etc. However, this in my opinion is beyond that. Upon move in, the apartment was filthy. There was obvious signs of wear and tear. Some time goes by and our A/C does not work. Put in a request, this is delayed but eventually an a/c window unit is installed until someone can fix the problem. The problem is supposedly fixed. Upon leaving the residence, there is dust everywhere from the work that was done. Screws were scattered on the floor as not all the screws were put back in place. I simply cleaned and put in all screws. Again… no problem. Well during this, I notice exterior issues. There is an abundance, and I mean large amounts of dog poop on nearly every square inch of grass on this property. The dog stations where you can deposit dog poop are overflown with yes some dog poop but mostly cigarette buds and random trash. I have a dog and although there is grass here, I would walk to the unicorn lake loop for my dog to urinate as there is no way you can walk your dog here without your dog or yourself stepping in dog poop. Don’t believe me? Driving here and getting down to look for yourself is free. Well back to the a/c, after only a couple of weeks, there is a burning smell coming from the a/c that was supposedly fixed. We put in a request, find out that due to severe oxidation from the a/c unit, the unit caught on fire but was quickly self extinguished. Yes this is possible, I am a fireman for a city here in Denton county and have seen this cause structure fires to homes. I also know this is non repairable merely only repaired for periods of time before issues arise again. And the maintenance man that came and told me this confirmed that this has happened in the same unit before. They are able to make repairs eventually and can report no issues since. Parking is horrible, as I stated, this is forthcoming and most apartment complexes but this is really bad. You have the local shops that attract you to the location but they actually share the parking in between both apartment complexes as well as the fact that there’s a hotel that accommodates long term stay that also has very limited parking. This means the influx of business parking takes up resident parking. They recently started using an app for parking to make sure only residents park in certain areas but it’s only applicable at night. The halls are dark and disgusting. I saw them “clean” the halls once and this was them using a blower to blow at the stuff from one end to the other and guess what, my apartment in the last one on the other end therefore I had crap at my doorstep. Speaking of doors, being that the rear gate can be aggressively pulled to access my apartment bypassing the code, there was an attempted robbery. I came home late at night to find my door knobs completely hammered out. I have proof of this as well as the police report filed. It was so beat in that there was no way for a key to be able to be put in to access the inside of my apartment. Solution was to replace the doorknob. Well see this isn’t possible because YOU CANT TURN THE KEY TO ENTER THE APARTMENT. Call the police and they arrive to help kick the door in for access. The maintenance team fixes door frame and new lock. Then charges me over 200$ for damages. Not a single apology or concern for the fact that someone tried breaking in. My current issue is a cockroach infestation. My buddy in the building across, is also dealing with this. We are clean people. We are both firemen, spending more time at the station than at home therefore we don’t accumulate trash, we don’t often cook here. Come to find out, after reviews and Reddit (look this place up on there for your sake) there’s been a long term problem with roaches here! I was sprayed recently, didn’t see them for a couple days, today I found 5. I have pictures. Broke lease early, would type more if I could."
