"(Video to view seating below) Historical piece of Houston from 1987. Impressive venue with an always talented cast. If you've never experienced the ballet, I highly recommend giving it a try, especially for a date or family event. For those in the know, look online for special events to visit backstage and talk with the cast. Tips for newcomer's: When buying tickets: Top - Cheapest. Okay view, but sometimes rear of the stage is cut off. People tend to make more noise and be less curious from lack of experience or interest. Binoculars recommended. Mid - Most variety of seating. Offers some more private luxury seating. Binoculars still recommended. Floor - Most expensive for a reason. Closeness to the stage makes for a more intimate presentation. People in this section really enjoy the show or are even affiliated with it. Dress as nice as you dare. People love to dress up for the theater. Leave early. Google Map's ETA isn't always accurate. If you're late, they play the show in the lobby and you'll be allowed in during intermission."
"Came to see Nutcracker with our daughter and son in law. It was our first time though they make it a yearly tradition. The ballet was fantastic. Unfortunately the theater was very hot which made the last half uncomfortable. Really needed to have read the program first so would have had a better understanding of each scene, but enjoyed it immensely and have several favorites to look for next time. However Clara was so amazing throughout!"
"I'm not sure if it was the Houston Ballet, The Nutcracker, Christmas, after Thanksgiving relief It was a beautiful ballet! I highly highly highly recommend going to see it! You were able to buy cocktails and snacks at intermission. But it was sold out so extremely crowded but we were able to use the restroom and get a water bottle. Parking was a breeze. It was about $12 for the night and across the street. Prepayment for the night parking made leaving a breeze! The ambiance is beautiful. There's plenty of places to eat around the theater. I would suggest leaving your house at 5:30 for 6:30 show if traffic shows a half hour travel time. That way you're not rushed. Great Christmas photo op!"
"Went to see the Houston Ballet perform the Nutcracker. Parking was a little difficult to find since this was my first time at the Wortham Theater Center. The building is incredible with beautiful statues and a grand theater with balcony seating. Every view is a good view of the stage. Food and drinks were served before the play. A nice little gift shop was also available. I had a little fright with the height of my balcony seat but quickly recovered once the play started. The Houston Ballet and Orchestra performed one of the best renditions of the Nutcracker. It really brought back memories of when I saw the Nutcracker as a child. Performances and music were excellent, combined with beautiful sets and costumes. Highly recommend the Wortham Theater Center and the Houston Ballet for all ages."
"Absolutely amazing theatre. We were so lucky to be able to attend the nutcracker on opening night! It was such a fantastic show and one of the greatest experiences anyone can have. I would highly recommend attending the nutcracker of course but at a minimum go see a nice show at the theater. You won’t regret it!"
