"For the price and closeness to UTRGV the apartments are fantastic. The apartments have simple furniture so you may need to buys some cheap organizers from the nearby Walmart. If tou have any leaks, screaming fire alarms or something else, just scheduled an appointment with maintenance. The front office staff are great, I have had nothing but positive interactions with them so far. Some neighbors can be noisy and throw parties at night, but it’s to be expect from a dorm near university. My biggest issue living here is an abnormal specimen who likes reeving his motorcycle between midnight and 3am, I hope he finds a girlfriend, a dog or something."

"Someone below has said the price is fair but is ruined by management and this is very true. I lived here for a year and the issues between the office were so unappealing, there were consecutive months I didn’t stay there while paying rent because they’d be very immature and rude and I didn’t want to be around to deal with it or blamed for anything. I understand they have some new staff in office but the actual managers are the worst ones which is disappointing due to the way they handle situations. My best advice is to document absolutely everything, even conversations because they switch up info always. Maintenance is very nice and quick if management allows them to be. For instance I called about an urgent issue regarding our kitchen sink and they refused to send anyone until a neighbor downstairs came up to say water was leaking through and the manager Diana or the one above her was annoyed by this. They also blamed me and were upset at me for letting a new roomate know she should put tickets in for anything damaged in her room to ensure her when she said there were things broken or the smell of smoke. Another instance was they changed our locks an hour before closing when nobody was home except for myself and without any notice and were surprised when we were frustrated. Imagine getting home to your own place and finding your locks changed and you can’t get in. I wouldn’t recommend anyone I know to live here but I understand how it’s convenient for students. They also always focus on ridiculous things like “a new grill for the pool” and stupid additions while I’m sure there were better uses for money, like our dishwasher didn’t work until maybe my last month of moving out and every time it was mentioned they’d say there’s no record of it. Also to mention a Roomate had an unregistered cat at one point and did come to handle the issue before things got worse, while ensuring that if the cats damages were documented we would be okay and not charged. However of course that was also false and everyone was charged for everything individually. So definitely document whatever they tell you the best you can they’re not very trustworthy. "I’ve lived here for 4 years it’s the best price for what you get! 10 min walk to school is great and it’s nice to not have to worry about finding parking on campus. The Rio is ALWAYS having events and maintenance is quick to solve issues and replace what can’t be fixed."

"I really love Nicole! She is so sweet and patient and willing to help when needed. I’ve been living here for the past 7 months and I’d say it’s definitely worth the rate I’m currently paying ($395). However, not sure I would recommend or stay here with my roommates next year if the rate continues to go up tremendously as it has been."
