"Our first 2 nights were pleasant. On our last night, the security lights outside of their store started flashing. We called, it went to voice mail so we texted and told them the flashing lights were keeping us awake. We finally got a text back saying they would turn it off in the morning and “enjoy your stay.” Difficult to do when you can’t sleep. I guess as long as they get your money, nothing else matters. We won’t be back."
"We had a wonderful stay at Whiskey Mountain Inn for Father's Day Weekend. Accommodations we great! The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Communication from Cassie was great! She answered all of our questions promptly. Whiskey Mountain Inn is just a short distance from Garner State Park where we spent our days enjoying the river. We will definitely be back!"
"Well the cabin is nice and clean. But we noticed there is a leak under the house, there is no laundry room, and no access to the river, like advertised. It is so disappointing. We were looking forward to having a little private piece of the river. I'll update my post after the trip, as today is our first day. We have arrived home and had a really nice time. The yard was big and the kids ran around and had fun. The TV actually worked, not like at Neal's where we had hardly any channels. I would recommend the cabins but you must do laundry and river swimming off premises. We have Texas State passes so enter was free. Make sure you make reservations for day passes ahead of time to coincide with your stay."
"In general, this is a cute and very clean cabin with pretty much everything as described by the owner. Read the check-in instructions carefully and you will be prepared. My kids loved the setting and the wilderness there. Another glow was that the owner was very accommodating and responsive before my arrival. I chop off one star because during my second night stay, another tenant played very heavy and loud music until 3am. There was no onsite management so nobody attended that during the night. That was very frustrating after a full day of hiking. The owner apologized the next morning and said that rarely happened before. Another issue that bothered me was the window unit air-conditioning. The night temperature was in the low 40's when we stayed. It was cold if we turned off the air-conditioner. However, it got very hot and dry if we left the air-conditioner on for over an hour. We had to get up and turn on and off the air-conditioner a few times. I am not sure if there is a better option than a window unit air-conditioner for a cabin, but a remote will probably help a lot with the fuss to get off the bed several times."
"The stay here was amazing, the hostess works great with you through the whole process. The views are gorgeous, the scenic driving is great. Overall nothing bad to say about our stay. I am deciding on staying at one of the bigger cabins just working out what day to choose."
