"I moved into 19west when it first opened. I lived in my unit for several years. These apartments are only 3 years old. So they are still pretty new which means appliances are newish as well. The apartments overall are nice. The high ceilings certainly make them feel larger than what they really are. The kitchen has a large island with cabinet storage and there are a lot of additional cabinets and plenty of counter space. If you like to cook these would be a good apartment for you. That being said the larger kitchen does cause for a smaller living/dining area. There is a lot of lighting in the apartment. They use bright bulbs. This is necessary because in a one bedroom there's only 3 windows. I feel like these apartments do lack natural light. I have to agree with a other review that some of the construction seemed rush. Painting over dust, caulking easily coming up, the plastic shower doesn’t seem flush with the wall, etc. But for me it didn’t affect my quality of living. The water pressure is horrible in the shower. And the water temperature when you have the shower on is significantly colder than any other faucet. Since these are bungalow style apartments, your two front windows look right out at the parking lot. During the daytime due to the type of window its very hard to see inside the apartment from the outside. But at night people can definitely see inside. However one nice thing is you don't have to worry about people above you. The walls are pretty thick. Majority of my neighbors I rarely heard noises. I did have a few inconsiderate neighbors who blared their music/bass. As far as maintenance goes I had very little issues here. The biggest problems had to do with things like fixtures such as the towel rack in the bathroom coming out of the wall and the front door seal falling apart. Pretty small issues. Maintenance would always come same day that I put a request in. You will also have to maintain the back patio area. For whatever reason they did not fully concrete the back area. Its a combination of gravel and concrete. So weeds can and will grow back there. Parking was never an issue there are plenty of spots. They need to add an additional dumpster especially for the front apartments. They only have one small dumpster to service 3 buildings. It fills up quickly and would overflow often. With the high winds trash would blow out. Often times there was broken glass in the parking lot due to glass falling out the dumpster. Sometimes it would take several days for it to get cleaned up. Being that this complex is in the middle of several housing developments there is a lot of dust. Once houses are built I’m sure it will be cut down but until then you can expect a lot of dust to collect around and inside the apartment. You also will have to pay $5 a month for pest control. They spray the outside frequently and occasionally would spray the inside but I don't remember them spraying the inside at all during my last year there. I never had an issue with pests. I would have occasional beetle get inside. I never had an issue with roaches. Overall these are good apartments. The area of course is safe and the residents are good. I never used the pool although its pretty small. The fitness center is decent. The rent is definitely on the higher end, especially considering the amount of dollar paid per square foot. They seem to not try to be competitive with other complexes nearby such as in Elm Park. Rent will go up every year due to fair market value. Which is not fair for the residents imo. For my first lease to last, rent went up a total of $200 a month. I never had an issue with management, they were always pretty responsive. There were times when people were not picking up after their dogs and the management did address it although it still seemed to be somewhat of an issue afterwards. They were very fair with moveout costs. I didn't pay anything past my deposit. I can’t comment on how clean the apartment will be when you move in but it seems like they do a good job of preparing units for new tenants."
"The price is totally not worth it. You are paying 1,100-1,200 minimum per month for a slightly more spacious apartment. God forbid you have small white lights decorating your door in February but apparently easter decorations in July are acceptable. The apartment is spacious but the water pressure and quality is horrible. Spiders are everywhere. The worst part was the incredibly limited dog friendly amenities. There is no dog park and the the grass is getting mowed every other day in the already limited area to walk (beware if you have allergies like I do). The front office people seem nice but not when you receive a double rent charge right before you're moving out. I wanted to love this place but the price does not equal quality in the slightest. Some may like this place but it certainly was not for me."
"I definitely wouldn’t ever stay here again. They had a roach problem and completely ignored it for weeks. I called the office multiple times to spray the apartment. They finally got back with me and said they had gotten my apartment mixed up other apartments, so how many other people had roaches that you ignored. They weren’t helpful in anyway and then looked confused when I told them I wanted to move out."
"I was really excited to move into these apartments. But the manger on property is very rude. The water pressure in the shower is low and dirt that does come under the door is a hassle. But I have lived at other apartments and been able to deal with these things. But having a rude property manager was not fun or easy the year we live there. I read a past review saying she’s petty and I definitely agree. If she doesn’t like something she makes sure to make it hard to live there. I don’t recommend."
"We've been here around 2 months and for the most part everything is awesome. I love how thick the walls are; I can hardly ever hear the neighbors. We did have some issues with leaking in the bathroom but they fixed it within a day. We are very pleased with the electric bill. (it's been crazy hot and the air conditioner has had no problem with keeping up) Something I do find very disappointing is not being able to use the pool even though it's part of what we pay for. I understand COVID makes it difficult but I think there is probably a way to allow a couple people to swim at a time. The front office people are always very friendly and helpful. We had Erin helping us as we prepared to move/moved in to our apartment. She made the transition very smooth for us! I will update after we've been here longer but as of now I would definitely recommend 19 West!"
